That was amazing and I fondly remember it. It's funny that he loves Eller now.
Was one of the first few months I was around, and we had nightly debates me and BIG

I held my ground i was 100% sure Price was gonna stay and i believe he's still the better goalie. |

Bergy said on TSN tonight that he is picking the best player available, even if that means a defenseman. If Columbus doesn't take Murray I think its possible that the Habs take him. Everyone talks about our lack of depth at center, but you also cant overlook the fact that our defense sucks. However we do have some good young ones on the rise with Subban, Emelin, Beaulieu, Tinordi and Ellis.

The defense does indeed (frank)ing suck. And everyone is saying Murray is NHL ready. |

I would be really mad if they draft Murray. Our chance to get a good forward and they screw it |

Good forwards are useless when your defense sucks. Ask the Guy Boucher. |

the way the NHL is now with systems and everybody being coached up so much you cannot simply score your way to a stanley cup. The Caps are a good example of that. And look at the Pens since they lost their D depth or Orpik and Scuderi. Haven't sniffed the finals since. |

Well I don't want us to have to overpay for 1st line forwards on the UFA market.
Not only do you acquire a player when you draft, but you have to see it as an asset, and a good centerman is worth more on the trade market than a good D.
Only for that I'd rather have a C. Add that to the fact that Murray is far from my favourite prospect in this draft, and you see why I don't want to draft him. Kid is as steady as it gets, but has a limited offensive potential. People comparing him to Niedermayer are dreaming, he can't transport the puck like old Nieds could.
He'll be a guy like Hamhuis, a pretty (frank)ing good D, but I'd rather draft a centerman, especially considering that we have loads of prospect coming in the next 2-3 years on D. |

Not every Dman can be an offensive juggernaught. But you ask around the playoff who is often the most valuable units on a successful team and its almost always the nice, reliable two way guys on the back end who can make that first pass, and can play 26 minutes a night, and can get down and block shots and can shut down the other teams top guys. You never win if you don't have these guys regardless of how many fancy forwards you have at your disposal.
Murray will be taken #2 IMO anyway so its probably a moot point. Habs will end up with Galchenyuk or Forsberg an in no way is that a bad thing either. Unless something drastic happens they will likely pick in the top #10 again and can shore up whatever holes they feel they have in terms of prospect depth at that time. |

You don't have to worry about that as there are no 1st line forward on the UFA market except Parise. |
