Dammit I just know Columbus is going to screw up and get a pile of poop from the rangers. Stepan, del zotto, Dubinsky and a first should do it for Nash - Just5
I think right now Howson is still holding out for Kreider as part of the deal. I think Slather can't help himself and will actually get pretty close to the deal you are suggesting. |

Bettman steps to the podium
There has been a trade
The Philadelphia flyers have dealt their 2012 1st round pick to the Nashville predators for Shea Weber's playoff beard.
Dreger will tweet that there is also a conditional pick in 2013 if the beard can grow bigger than hartnell's hair.
Downgoesbrown will follow up by reportimg there was a serious bidding war between the flyers and pens but the flyers won out because the beard would only go to a winner and not a whiner and thought there was no way a beard could grow on Crosby's face. Ultimately the beard felt the flyers gave him the best chance to succeed in both the quest for the cup and ability to grow. |

Although Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren likes his group, the front office will due diligence on the top names on the free agent market, Ryan Suter and Zach Parise. The Predators and Devils are both interested in keeping their stars in town, but the Flyers will see what the players' asking prices are should they hit the market. The problem with Philadelphia is that it already has over $61 outlayed for next season, so it could make any kind of signing a bit tough. Holmgren is known to make bold moves when he deems necessary, though. "If we can improve our team, we’ll do what it takes," Holmgren said.

The Flyers remain optimistic about their chances to retain Matt Carle. According to Sam Carchidi of The Philadelphia Inquierer, the deal is expected to be in the "$4.5 million per season neighborhood." With their current commitments, that contract would put them just past the current cap, though it's expected to change under the new collective bargaining agreement. The 27-year-old Carle had four goals and 34 assists this past season.

Not that I condone trading two top 6 forwards but as another posted stated Weber had the same amount of points as Voracek. So really you need to replace JvR's production and thats where they would need a player like P.A. Hes not going to be JvR but good enough to pot around 20 goals. |

I'm just really going into my whole, I trust Homer mode.
It seems like he's going to do something, and I'm going to have to live with it, may as well start being ready |

You know what?! other people are entitled to their opinions as well. No need to make fun of them. No one said making the trade would get you the cup, so stop acting like a virgin whose just seen Richard for the first time. We were simply debating the future implications of this.
Who do you think is more likely to lead you to the cup?
Voracek +JVR or Weber. I for one dont want to be then Next TML hoping that my prospects mature enough to get into the playoffs. I want to be the team that goes for it every year!
My Money is on weber. - Philly1980

As good as that shot was, I do believe his opponent, Carter, had the better postseason. |

If they get him and sign Carle. You'd think that the flyers could ship Mez out for a 1st. So think of it as jvr, voracek, bourdon and a 1st. |

I wouldn't move anyone from D unless they absolutely needed the cap space.
It's also real possible that Timonen starts the season on LTIR. |

I know, it's horrible...but Weber's still young. Of course knowing how things go, he'd get traded here and bust his leg getting off the plane |

With the way the Leafs were high-sticking PRIOR to Pronger's injury, it was only a matter of time someone was getting hit. Of course, the one that hit him was "clean" in that it was on a follow-through. |

On a related LOL note, I was just going through Buzzgate pics for M4 to show him with whom I was talking here. I showed him Crims' photo from which I got my avatard EYES and then I had to show this picture to show I was talking to you:
Of course, MOAT is also in the picture, too, just easier to see in the full version I have on this computer.
EDIT: Putting him to bed. Night all! |

It's going to be one complicated summer. We could use Shea Weber as much as anyone but if you deal a player like JvR, you've gotta replace him. If we move JvR, then I would love to bring in Parise. If we don't bring back Jagr, I would love to bring in Shane Doan (although I'd prefer Doan over Jagr anyway).
I just can't help but feel they'll be a hole in the line up somewhere no matter what sort of splash we make. We can't sign and trade for everyone. |
