I hate this silly season lineup you have here. I still see the forward core as being deficient defensively. I don't like the 4th line so much. Kimmo on the top pairing equals him being worn out once the playoffs start. If Weber ends up on the flyers you just know he plays a ton of minutes. - bird_dog
I think Meszy should get a shot on the top pair with Weber. Timonen would have lower even strength minutes being paired with Lilja or Gus, but still decent PP and PK minutes. Agreed that Kimmo with Weber would wear him out, Weber is a monster for minutes. |

Giroux and Coots are my only untouchables at this point. I love Schenn and see solid potential in him, but if he's the last piece of the Weber trade puzzle, see ya buddy. - Rocktane
Agreed, I'm all in favor of having 3 top end centers for at least the next 5 years or so, but to get Weber -yeah I would do it also.
July 1st is going to be very interesting. |

I'm guessing here, but if Suter walks, then you'd have to think that would make Weber somewhat more hesitant to re-sign. Other than Rinne, Nashville hasn't shown the ability to lock up their own guys. - LordStanley88
There is always that side of the coin too. Thats where I was going with the 1-year deal he might want. See how Nashville fares without Suter, get to UFA, decide long-term at that point. Nashville can still add pieces up front, keep Weber on a 1-year, and still have a top 3 goalie in the NHL. They wouldnt be totally lost without Suter. |

Definitely wouldn't want to be in Poile's shoes right now. Just another organization-flip of an offseason in Nashville, but I think we have the right people on the job. |

Wellwood obviously isn't going to become a top scorer in the NHL but he has that desire and determination that most of the players on this team could really feed off of. He's young and can only get better. There really shouldn't be much of a debate between Wellwood and Harry Z. |

I would be suprised if Poile leaves himself open to losing both Suter and Weber for basically nothing. It would certainly help ticket sales this year and competitiveness of the team, but letting those two assets walk for nothing in two consecutive years I would think be tough. Either way, Poile is in a really tough spot, especially since Detroit has a ton of cap space and Lidstrom retired.

Why does it have to be an 80+ million contract? So your source is not only on the inside of the Flyers Organization, but also has insight into the the inside of Nashville's Organization?

I had the sexiest dream that we traded JVR, schenn, vorachek MAb and a 1rst for weber and Gastaud. Then resigned Jagr and Carle. Signed Parise as a FA.

No, that's what the Flyers organization has heard in regards to why they may be open to dealing Weber. |

Say the Flyers get Weber.....is there still a need for more toughness up front?

Why else would Nashville be looking to move him...
It's not that hard to figure out. Use your brain. |

The Flyers do not have Weber.

Because he doesn't want to play there and sign long term if he feels Nashville isn't going to go all out to build a winning team. And he wants to win a Stanley Cup. |

Correct. It's probably a bit of both, especially if they do end up losing Suter. |
