I could very well be wrong but I don't see how 2 seasons is a huge leap of faith. If we can't pick up Weber or a player of his status, someone has to fill the hole that Pronger and Timonen leave behind. The season between losing Eric Desjardins and picking up Kimmo Timonen was a last place season. I'd rather have J-Bo then nothing at all. - Schenn2shine
Calgary isn't going to give him away. It would take a significant investment to trade for him.

Actually, defensively Bouwmeester is a solid defenseman. He just doesn't bring enough to the table at the Cap hit. He lacks the offensive game that he should have, and he doesn't play that physical. - MJL
he rarely stands out...looks like he's floating out there half the time. |

I still don't know what you think Bouwmeester is. Bouwmeester is a good player. He's just not as good as his Cap hit suggests he should be. - MJL
Then I suppose I'm officially tossing my Penny into that Well you spoke of. |

You don't have to be physical to play well defensively. - MJL
I think its an element that a defensive d-man should have.
Coburn, when he plays physical and uses his body is a much better player. |

And a player with that Cap hit should stand out.
If he made 4.5M, maybe I'd have some interest. |

It certainly is a nice element to have, and what you would prefer. But it isn't a necessity.

the fact that it's only two seasons definitely helps, no doubt
i just worry about who the flyers would have to lose in order to fit that cap hit on the roster
it may (at the very least) make more sense than acquiring nash
particularly if he comes cheap (in terms of assets) |

You can bet the hair on your ass that the Toronto media will still ask him about it now. |

I understand liking him too.
But that cap hit is just absolutely monstrous. That's a number that could SERIOUSLY (frank) a team up badly.... |

Not likely, they'll still ask when he'll draft Ontario born players. |

3 of the best defenseman who ever played for the Flyers, who were excellent defensively. Weren't defenseman that were considered physical defenseman. Howe, Desjardins, and Timonen

I would be on the phone with Winnipeg. Enstrom and Kane make the most sense to me. |

Since it's not actually Burke does it matter? |
