And a player with that Cap hit should stand out.
If he made 4.5M, maybe I'd have some interest. - MJL
To be fair, many in Detroit would take you that Nick Lidstrom wasn't very flashy and never stood out, especially 5 on 5. |

I understand liking him too.
But that cap hit is just absolutely monstrous. That's a number that could SERIOUSLY (frank) a team up badly.... - Giroux_Is_God

the fact that it's only two seasons definitely helps, no doubt
i just worry about who the flyers would have to lose in order to fit that cap hit on the roster
it may (at the very least) make more sense than acquiring nash
particularly if he comes cheap (in terms of assets) - FlyerMike18
Totally agree. |

The Jackets were more screwed by their draft record than Nash's cap hit |

Calgary isn't going to give him away. It would take a significant investment to trade for him. - MJL
I agree that the just can't give J-Bo away. He is the top 10 worst player per $.
They would most likely have to throw in a pick.
J-Bo plus 2nd rounder for Flyers mid round pick |

3 of the best defenseman who ever played for the Flyers, who were excellent defensively. Weren't defenseman that were considered physical defenseman. Howe, Desjardins, and Timonen - MJL
Desjardins and Kimmo aren't exactly guys I would classify as defensive d-men. |

I would be on the phone with Winnipeg. Enstrom and Kane make the most sense to me. - stveshdy
It's strange to me that not many people are getting behind this. It's not the flashiest of moves, but it makes the most sense and wouldn't break the bank like almost every other move we've been talking about. |

Shea Weber's hit may well be higher than Nash's - Jsaquella
I'm not a Weber advocate either.
I want to see a Mez-ish caliber defenseman added to the mix, and POSSIBLY a 4th line center to help out on the PK and in the faceoff dot. |

Desjardins and Timonen weren't very good defensively? They weren't regularly matched up against top lines, and play top minutes on the PK? The fact that they also had two way ability and could play offensively in all situations, doesn't take away from how good they were defensively. Which proves my point that you don't have to be a physical player to be very good defensively.

I live in the city.
Could see it happening as the team could use a shake-up, there was lots of noise last season as they didnt try to push for the playoffs. They need offensive help badly, so the Flyers would have to replace Kane and the Jets would want more offense coming back. Enstrom as well, wont be cheap to get.
Evander Kane is a great player but I question him. He has wanted out ever since coming to the city which I could understand however he looks lazy often and is questionable defensively at times. I'd gamble on a guy like that though.
I would personally much rather give up a guy like Read than Voracek though. |
