If EDM is in the lottery next year again and they win it, i will say it is all fixed!
- peddy-93

3 times in a row is already enough for me to beleive it's fixed

mono is 'injury proned'?....'lacks heart' even though he played through it?
what a joke, easy on the Craig Button tweets and watch a couple games.

- Barx

Maybe everyone hates on him because the media has made him out to be the devil-incarnate...

IMO, Lupul should be the captain. So I disagree on that point.
- A_Tree

Lupul is no captain material (although I agree that he would be a better fit to be captain than Phaneuf).
To improve, you have to give something good away..
I do not expect Lupul to get more than 55points next season, his trade value is at its highest now..

yes, i do actually

gillis will have a price.. and nobody is gonna come close to it

and its the media blowing this out of proportion.. as per usual.. here's a scenario... luongo stays in vancouver and assumes the back up role and continues to be a consumate professional about it.

know why we never here that story?

cause its boring.

the media push these ideas even when they have no basis in reality.. its all about selling papers/blogs/whatever

- Dozzer

Luongo has already requested a trade though... Which pretty much means he won't accept being a backup

Gillis will have no choice but to accept garbage to whomever can fit in that contract. He's just trying to drive up the price... Obviously he's going to ask for a lot now to see what people throw at him.. That'll change

whats he gonna do....strike? hes under contract...he can pout all the wants but when most teams are likely offering peanuts, Gillis may be hard pressed to move him for what guys like Burke are likely offering.

Guarantee you they wont want a 5.5 mill cap hit on their bench all season, complaining and being a huge media distraction for a team whose knocking on the door of a Stanley cup

Why? What about his game makes you think his production should drop?

Burke will say anything to try to keep the media docile, probably won't work.

The only Luongo trade I would accept is as follows:

Luongo for Komi + Connelly/Armstrong/Lombardi

Take it or leave it.

i personally dont know if he'll gave the same year he had last year, but over an 82 game season i can see him getting 65+ points.. not the PPG player he was last year, but still a good solid season

I guess.

Not convinced that would be such a good idea, but it's hard to say.

Which is what I'm sure is pretty close to what Burke is offering... Plus a middle prospect

I actually wouldn't be surprised if Burke is asking for one of THEIR top prospects in return for taking on such a crazy contract... Much like Aulie in the Phaneuf trade

Yes. Once you have mono, you're usually immune to it afterwards.

Very rare that you get it twice.

Agreed. I think he's a 65-70pt guy when it's all said and done. All assuming he remains healthy.

Can he have an off year? Sure. But guys with his style of play generally do well in this league.

He's big and has some crafty hands.. he's also shown that he has the ability to put the puck in the net
