I want Faksa so friggin bad, lol. But I knew if I took him here, half of Leafs Nation would kill me, and the other half would call me a moron for taking him at 5.
I have Faksa at 4 on my overall list. He's my favorite player in the entire draft. Heck, he's my favorite prospect to watch... period. (Other than Biggsy) - Brian Huddle
I have him at #5, which is ideal for us haha.
He's not flashy, but neither is M.Richards, Morrow or Doan. |

Jets gm K.Cheveldayoff met E. Kane's agents today(Newport). Dismissed rumours of Kane's unhappiness. Talked contract parameters, but no #'s. |

As I've said a couple times-- reminds me a cross-breed between Mike Richards and Jeff Carter.

Faksa? Would he be unreasonable to take at 5? |

Why do you think he takes Forsberg over Grigs? - Domaju
I just have the feeling that Burke will feel he is a better fit. He uses his body more than Grigs from all the scouting reports i've been reading.
I dont think Forsberg is bad or anything, I just think Grigorenko is the better option. |

It's very possible. He probably knew Burke would take Kadri if he thought Murray wanted him. Clever bastard. - Domaju
I'm being facetious
Some people think that Burke may have been swindled, more or less due to Burke's large ego and his desire to create rumors where ever he goes. If Murray truly wanted Cowen over Kadri then he played his cards right, but as far as the "hoax" goes - it's hard to say who comes out on top.
Personally the verdict is still out on both Kadri (who's had limited NHL minutes) and Cowen (who's played maybe 2 games). Safe to say this is another example of the hockey-crazy media trying to make something out of nothing again. None better against two divisional Canadian rivals, eh? |

There you go. Undoubtedly Detroit is another example of a team that got lucky drafting guys very late with super high reward. It's not a perfect science because you're gambling on human beings, but analysts have to justify their existence... - A_Tree
Detroit didn't just get lucky. They seem to have found a secret skill to look for. Plus they have a very good method of developing their players. But now more than ever they need that method to prove effective as they're starting to slowly fall. |

Faksa? Would he be unreasonable to take at 5? - Unholy_Forward
I have him at 4 on my list. Most lists have him around 8-12, though.
Every year a team takes a player high, and the fans a couple years later cry and say "look at so-and-so who went a couple picks later! Why didn't we take him?" and yet they also think trading down or going off the board is the recipe for a GM's firing.
It makes no sense.
To me, the GMs shouldn't be worried about consensus, but trusting their scouts. If it was me, I'd advise my GM to take Faksa at 5 and not look back. |

If it's a forward I'm guessing Forsberg or Faksa. |

i expect Burke to offer that 8.6 million he was going to waste on Nash, to Parise
and save himself a couple of prospect and a couple of roster players in the process - bobbyisno1
True, but think he'll risk not landing Parise? If he drafts someone other than Grigs and then doesn't get Parise there will be a big uproar imo. I don't think Burke takes that risk. |

If it's a forward it's probably Forsberg or Faksa, but if they are very lucky Grigorenko might be still around. |

It's the crack that made those 2 special. So i'd pass if he is not on some sh!t. I'd take Grigs because he could play in any league, just tell him ahead of time so he whips out the right birth certificate for ya |

I hope it's not drastic (which unfortunately seems most likely). If he makes a strong move to improve the team without destroying the future, I hope the media takes it with a grain of salt. - A_Tree
By big splash I don't mean mortgage the future. But I think we'll see 1 or 2 young prospects being moved in a big deal. |

1) While I believe that we will certainly get Luongo at a discount, we still have to give them at least ONE decent asset. Kadri's that man, as he couldn't make the team under RW, so what makes us think he makes it under RC?
2)It's a viable option, esp. with Scrivens now ready to push. However, I wonder how much of a difference confidence in your tender has on young Dmen like Schenn. If we continue to get bad goaltending, it could really sink guys like Luke, and at that point it's not just another season and another goaltender(or 2) we've lost, but a good young Dman in the process - AngryWhiteMale
Come on, thats so stupid. There is no way Burke trades Kadri, let alone for Luongo. Its been pretty much established that the price will not be that high. The amount of people who want to give up on a kid just because he hasnt made it as a regular in the NHL by the time he is 21 is , frankly, astounding. |
