I think people are making too much of these rumors to be honest. From observing Homer's actions the past few seasons, he seems to be the kind of GM that shows interest in all possible players, trades and ideas. That is a good thing. It can't hurt to see who's available, what the asking price is, and so forth. I think these rumors are a result of Homer giving some teams calls, seeing what they are asking for their guys.

I guarantee all these rumors are true, because there is no doubt that Homer has considered pursuing free agents, trading for a player, or moving up in the draft, but it doesn't mean they are likely to happen. These are all things he has the ability to do. In the end, I think we will end up seeing only one trade or free agent signing, which will ultimately be the one Holmgren believes is best for the team.

Just because JVR, Schenn, Couts, etc come up in rumors doesn't mean that Homer wants to trade them. They are probably being discussed in trade talks but Holmgren knows it is wise to leave them together. Unless he gets a deal he can't refuse, he won't do something stupid.

I know they arent going to make all those moves, but just the fact that he is asking gives credense that something may happen, and doesnt change the fact the all the possibilities this offseason are mind boggling... It would be like 20 strippers holding 20 bottles of JD, and a bag of snow in front of Richards and Carter.... Just so many options, which one do you do?

I can see an interview with the "stanley cup" guy after this summer. So what was the wierdest thing done with the cup this year. "Well I think Mike Richards took it to a donut shop. I had to clean all the powderd sugar from all the etchings."

Aaron Musick is suggesting the Flyers are interested in Eric Johnson. Though he does say to take the source who provided the info with a grain of salt. He claims the Flyers are offering JVR for Johnson, though I think it might take more on the Flyers end to make it happen. Just curious to what others thought of Johnson. Obviously he was the former #1 pick and is still only 24 years of age. Also has a big body at 6'4 235lbs, haven't seen many Avs game, but I have read he has progressed well from the beginning of last year to the end. Also a RH shot which is a plus.
