Where are you getting this information from that JVR will surely have to undergo surgery in the near future if he doesn't get it now? From the Doctors who have examined and are treating JVR?
It seems to me that it says COULD require surgery. It also doesn't name the source.
The Article is also from December 20011. It is now almost the end of June 2012. - MJL
Well, I have basically the same condition as JVR. I have an advanced stage of cam impingement too. I can't even cut my own toenails on my right foot because of the restricted range of motion. I also walk with a very slight limp, but it's not painful and I could still play hockey if I chose to. I was not getting a proper push off my right foot and my play was diminishing as a result, so I stopped playing old-timers 2 seasons ago. My doctor actually said I have a hip replacement in my future. He said playing hockey would only accelerate the process and that I should delay having the surgery done as long as possible because hip replacements don't last forever and I'm only 49. Better to wait until it gets closer to the pain stage. I have no reason to make this up. If JVR has a cam impingement he is probably playing with little pain, but with a restricted range of motion and push.

It appears I have stirred up a poop storm LMFAO, excellent. I do hope that Couturier is not included tho, that would piss me off. But I guess we all will know here in a few days where Nash will land

from the youtube clip proves everything file, why do you need anyone else on your team other than Nash when he can do this all by himself? [ignores everything leading up to the puck on Nash's stick]

You don't know what JVR's condition is. If he needed surgery, why wouldn't they be doing it? Who has recommended he doesn't need surgery? The guy writing that article, or the Doctor's and Specialists who have examined him?

As I said, he doesn't "need" the surgery now but we can also see that he's not playing 100% either. The surgery will "have" to come at some point if the cam impingement story is true. It just will. And why would that reporter make up cam impingement as being the issue anyway. Most people hadn't even heard the term until the stories were run.
And with this information being "out" there for any GM to read, it has to put doubt in their minds as to the future health of JVR. That's why I consider him damaged goods at this point. At least until he has the surgery, a successful rehab, and gets back to playing 100%.

Do you really think that GM's are going to rely on articles written on websites or newpapers, or whatever, to get Medical information on a player, that they might be interested in? Or are they going to look at the Medical records of the player, and have their Doctors look at the player and give him a physical as part of the conditions of the trade?
He wasn't playing at 100% last Season. Who's to say he won't be this upcoming Season?
JVR is not damaged goods until it's shown that he is. And a couple of articles, written over 6 months ago, isn't enough information to state that he's damaged goods. At least not for me it isn't.

Where there's smoke, there's usually fire. Time will tell I suppose.
Van Riemsdyk, 23, never publicly commented on the injuries. "Some bounces haven't exactly gone my way for most of the year, but it feels good to contribute and help the team win," van Riemsdyk said. "I don't think I felt this comfortable on the ice as I did last year; I'm still working toward that for whatever reason." Van Riemsdyk's teammates have known that he was quietly battling his way through various injuries, as he has floated from line to line on Laviolette's lineup card without finding a home.

I guess they figure hes too good to pass up on. The writer for the Columbus Dispatch that watches the team tweeted that he believes in the right landing spot Nash could score 40 goals and be a 90 point player easily. Thats some strong words if you ask me.

I don't think there's any doubt that Nash can be a 40 goal scorer playing with Giroux.
