How do you know Hartnell won't be re-signed during the Season? - MJL
magic orb, heard froma few sources that they can be had for cheap at spencers |

I'm still probably one of the few who feels this way but I think it's silly Stamkos was ever nominated for the Hart. Stamkos obviously deserved the Rocket Richard because he scored the most goals in the league but Stamkos is a player who was unable to carry his team to at least a playoff birth. For me, that should count against him for being nominated for the Hart. I know this is the Flyer side of me speaking but Giroux was top 3 in scoring all season long and was everything for his team but not nominated for anything. His scoring didn't even stop in the regular season, it kept going into the playoffs, being 3rd in scoring after only being knocked off after the second round. I know final decisions are made before the playoffs but you see where I'm going with this. If Giroux was at the awards, he wasted a plane ticket. |

Giroux got flown out by EA Sports.
Giroux didn;t even get named as a 1st or 2nd team all star. Beat out by Ray whitney |

Good call, Mook. I want Erik Johnson if Weber isn't available, but at the same time I can't say for sure that guys like Simmonds, Hartnell, Voracek, Read, and JVR are going to produce at the same level or higher. I can see the logic behind Nash, don't agree with it, but understand it. |

Easily led the League in scoring. Scored 50 goals. I don't know how you can say he wasn't deserving. Maybe just because he plays for the Pens, I don't know. - MJL
Can't say he is completely undeserving. He had a hell of a season, but to me the Hart voting frequently seems skewed by scoring numbers almost the same way the Norris voting goes. I certainly think you can make a case for other Hart candidates that were equally valuable to their teams, but didn't score as much. That said, I don't have a huge issue with Malkin winning it this year.
Personally, I would like to see a rule that prevents players from winning more than one award per year. So if you with the Art Ross, you can't also win the Hart. You win the Vezina, you can't win the Hart. Etc., etc. There are issues with that approach too, but I just think it's more fair to spread it around (and probably better for the league and the fans). |

don't think stamkos had much to do with tampa having the absolute worst goaltending in the league by a mile. that should not work against him. |

Tampa could always trade for a goalie. I wouldn't say we had consistent goaltending all year long but the Flyers found away. Tampa has a good team but manage to fail every season. They're like the Rangers of the early 2000's. |

Actually this is good news. One less thing on G's resume come contract time. |

Honestly we could get Johnson and not give up as much as CBus wants for Nash. |

Tampa traded for Lindback, Lindback hopefully turns into a real solid goalie. If he does Tampa will be a force |

tampa's goaltenders had a sub .900 save % for the year. that absolutely abysmal in today's league. but the bolts not trading for a 'tender has nothing to do with stamkos and shouldn't affect whether or not he's worth of MVP nomination. |

I doubt Colorado wants to move Johnson. They gave up Stewart and Shattenkirk for his punk ass. |
