Col: JVR, Schen, rights to Carle
Phil: Johnson and a pick
im not the biggest Johnson fan but this is the only way i make this trade. JVR has to many question marks with him. and if we did this trade we would have to send big money to Suter in hopes to sign him so we could get a top 2 Dman. - jonathonpeddle

or how about a 3 way deal:
Philly: Johnson, Col 2nd
Ana: JVR, Schenn, Barrie, Philly 3rd
Col: Ryan, Rights to Carle
Might be some better players to plug in but it gives Philly there Dman, Ana gets a second line and a young puck moving dman, Col gets a goal scoreing winger and the chance to sign Carle. - jonathonpeddle
we're not giving up schenn and jvr and a pick, you must be high to think we'd part with that high of a price for an under-achieving dman. get real. you sound like a leaf fan |

Did you say EJ is no more valuable than JVR? Wow man - Just5
Have you ever seen him play? Or do you just know he has a high rating in NHL 12.
He has accomplished little in his career. No deal to be made. |

In no way shape or form do I trade Erik Johnson to the Flyers for JVR straight up. They need to add to this. Johnson is more important to Colorado and Philly than JVR would be to Colorado and Philly. Make it sting a bit more with the return and I'm not talking a fringe BS prospect or a second round pick. - Oneonta Penguin
Exactly. Flyers would need to add to make it worthwhile for Colorado. Not happening. |

We dont want to give up EJ in the first place, and if Homer wants him that bad to replace pronger, the only way us Avs Fans will be ok with that is if we get an overpayment for him.
I wouldnt even want JVR in the first place, Schenn and Vorachek is way more appealing offer to us. |

I've watched him on the USA team. I would not say that he is no more valuable than jvr. Like you said. That's all I'm saying |

Chris Stewart and Kevin Shattenkirk was not massive overpayment for Erik Johnson.. quite the steal for Colorado if you ask me. Would love to have EJ on the flyers.. what area(s) is Colorado looking to improve in? - pharcyde

he's probably just kickin tires. no way i'd offer more than jvr for johnson, if that's a non-starter, so be it. you can keep him, i'm very underwhelmed with his career so far. |

We will gladly keep EJ, same thing can be said for JVR, im just not sold on him yet. He had that one good playoff series and a half and then giroux stole the flyers show. End of the day a trade like that, Avalanche become a worse off team losing EJ. |

also, why would you want jvr when you have a very similar player in landeskog? doesn't seem like the deal works for the avs. i'd be ok with it, not thrilled, we do need help on our back end, but as a guy who's watched jvr play for a while now, he's a stud. he works damn hard in the offseason, he's big, he's fast, he can skate. he needs to mature as a player and be dominant more consistently, but when he does, look out. i think his ceiling is higher than landeskog's, then again i've only seen gabriel play a handful of times |

Its a deal that doesnt help either team, Avs get weaker on D which is already their glaring weakness right now, and you guys lose another top 6 forward with Jagr leaving to free agency as well. Fill some holes make bigger ones somewhere else.
That is the same description of EJ, when he isnt over thinking the game he is a stud back there, smooth and in control with a bit of a mean streak.
The more you watch Landy the more you are blown away at how good he is at only 19 years old, the kid is going to be a superstar

The Cryers gotta make the Avs want this deal, Colorado is in the position of strength, they know Philly needs D, that they won't cough up half of their team to acquire Weber and that Suter wants nothing to do with them. The only thing Philly can do is load up with Nash or go get some mediocre D-man that they will have to overpay for, they're just not gonna get fair market value for their players in this deal. I agree Avs can only give into it, if Philly puts up 2 of Schenn, JVR or Couterier and they wouldnt do that. |

we don't have a small pile of defenseman in our farm system like johnson the way we did with shattenkirk. shattenkirk was expendable, johnson is not. we need the type of player johnson is, underachieve as he might, just about as badly as we need anything else on this team. to me the idea of trading him is ludricous. who would take his place? |

That's perhaps the dumbest proposed trade I've heard in a long time. Johnson is still a bit erratic, but defensemen oftern take this long to develop. JVR is Philly's version of Wojtek Wolski--a big first round pick, with some scoring touch and a lack of consistency or physicality. No thanks. |
