Burke needs to trade Lupul now and get some value for him. There's zero chance hes worth this much next season, as a potential UFA or on a 6mil/yr extension. |

He's awesome defensively. Norris Trophy speaks for itself, no way around that.
However....
The Calder and Lady Byng trophies are clearly rigged.
 - robin_steele264
How are they rigged? Landeskog deserved it since he won. Can't have it both ways. |

Was it a story about homosexuality and self-acceptance, put into songs by "teens" who are all close to 25 years old? If yes, you might want to submit it for Glee! |

Individual awards in hockey serve no purpose but to inflate the contracts of the winners. - Leafs43
That sounds like a great Maple Leaf fan excuse as to why the players we cheer for, don't win any. Bravo sir. |

It's really amazing how few Leafs have won awards.... Ever.
Kinda sad really.

That offers no excuse at all as to why the leafs dont win any.
An excuse would be me saying that the voters will never vote for a leaf to win an award. Thats an excuse.

Eh, awards are individual accomplishments. Great as evidence for a "Pronger vs Niedermayer" debate. But irrelevant outside of those debates.
All that matters is the cup. It is our inability to win a cup that is sad, not our lack of awards in my opinion. |

I have a feeling Leafs will draft #2 and get Yakupov, EDM will take Murray.
The price will be Schenn and #5 for #2.
CLB might get B Schenn from PHI if Nash gets traded there and the Schenn bros use their wondertwin powers in CLB. |

Broke a vertebra and severe concussion.
Returned and had a great season.
Lupul was also deserving but theres only one award. - robin_steele264
Let me preface this, THIS IS NOT ABOUT LEAFS VS. CANADIENS!
Fractured, NOT BROKEN, F-R-A-C-T-U-R-E-D vertebra and "severe concussion"... But out and about going to movies ONLY four days later. One of the primary symptoms of a "severe concussions" is light sensitivity. IF "the concussion" was that "severe," sitting in a darkened room and focusing on a brightly lit screen for a couple hours is probably the last place you'd want to be with a "severe concussion."
vs.
Lupul facing an actual career ending situation involving two major back surgeries, one of which ended up causing a blood infection which almost killed the guy, not to mention that he lost upwards of 60 pounds throughout this ordeal. Lupul's situation was so bad that Anaheim basically gave up on him and traded him away for next to nothing. Furthermore, Lupul missed almost double the games Pacioretty did and that was split between 2 seasons, not to mention the off-season in between!
Now you tell me, who does it actually sound like made the more significant recovery and returned further from their injuries etc.?
What's even more hilarious is that Lupul outscored Pacioretty this season having played 13 fewer games!
THE ONLY REASON Pacioretty won this award is because his incident drew far more negative attention by being so controversial and this award is nothing but a consolation prize and the NHL's feeble attempt to turn a bad situation into something positive.
What a complete (frank)in' joke! Sh!t, Alfredsson should have won it before Pacioretty! |

Its a crime that Pacioretty won it. Especially after his completely intentional head hit this year. |
