Rigged by Buffalo Tourist Association. They hate Lupes.

Reality of decision is that Patches injury was seen by everyone over and over and over. There was also a bit of a sentiment that Chara walked too easily.

Lupul suffered out of sight. I appreciate that they reward people who come back but selection will always be very subjective.

No big deal except no Hab (other than Komi's well deserved ASG selection) should ever win an award for anything.

- Canada Cup

I agreed. Lupul IMO had the harder road to travel and was the better player last year. That is supposed to be the criteria, but I think what you said is accurate.

No offense mike in buffalo, but you keep repeating yourself of tim thomas when he took the year off? Why do you keep bringing his name into discussion when hes not a factor and is old and is probably done...

Leaf fans are pissed Burke said that about Scrivens and Reimer.

But they'd be pissed if Burke over paid for a goalie.

Vicious circle.

- jbold

Even if you have to overpay a little bit to get a quality goalie...do it.....I cant watch reimer in net.

Exactly.
In all honesty, it would probably only be "overpayment" in leafs fans eyes anyway. Most of their prospects are overvalued.

Or under valued

There never seems to be any middle ground. One of my Boston buddies is convinced Colborne is our 1C, some Leaf fans think he's an AHLer for life. Some Leaf fans think Kadri will be the next Rebeiro, others think he's good for a 3rd round pick. Ce la Vie.

If it’s a deal that makes sense, I think the Leafs will do it. But they won’t overpay.

Exactly what Ive been thinking....Luongo would be a good choice for dirt cheap, but not if hes going to cost any valued assets.

That is pretty crazy...although in their defense, we dont have much in the system around him

And fixed.

Let me preface this, THIS IS NOT ABOUT LEAFS VS. CANADIENS!

Fractured, NOT BROKEN, F-R-A-C-T-U-R-E-D vertebra and "severe concussion"... But out and about going to movies ONLY four days later. One of the primary symptoms of a "severe concussions" is light sensitivity. IF "the concussion" was that "severe," sitting in a darkened room and focusing on a brightly lit screen for a couple hours is probably the last place you'd want to be with a "severe concussion."

vs.

Lupul facing an actual career ending situation involving two major back surgeries, one of which ended up causing a blood infection which almost killed the guy, not to mention that he lost upwards of 60 pounds throughout this ordeal. Lupul's situation was so bad that Anaheim basically gave up on him and traded him away for next to nothing. Furthermore, Lupul missed almost double the games Pacioretty did and that was split between 2 seasons, not to mention the off-season in between!

Now you tell me, who does it actually sound like made the more significant recovery and returned further from their injuries etc.?

What's even more hilarious is that Lupul outscored Pacioretty this season having played 13 fewer games!

THE ONLY REASON Pacioretty won this award is because his incident drew far more negative attention by being so controversial and this award is nothing but a consolation prize and the NHL's feeble attempt to turn a bad situation into something positive.

What a complete (frank)in' joke! Sh!t, Alfredsson should have won it before Pacioretty!

so whats good people, seems like luongo isnt going anywhere unless he fully demands to be traded out of vancouver because he simply does not want to play there... thats the only way burke will acquire him cheaply, is if deep down luongo wants to get the hell outta there ASAP. As many of you have said bernier is going nowhere so we will leave it at that.

Onwards, for fridays draft, galchenyuk, forsberg, or grigorenko will be fine to take at fifth, not like we need any more defense since justin schultz is surely only the positive i can take that there is a major possibility he is coming here for sure Hopefully we move up to draft Galchenyuk.

Looks like Burke was trying to acquire luongo, though for sure the nucks were asking for too much in return for such a crappy contract, so burke has withdrawn from that deal or their proposals. Until luongo states he wants out, burke will get him cheap if that arises.

But Forsberg's stats suck! They're almost like Tlusty's!

Honestly, if I was a player, the Masterton would be the last award I'd want to win. In it's current formula, mind you.

It has become a "comeback from injury award" instead of a perseverance/sportsmanship/dedication to hockey award.

Henceforth, my bias aside, Lupul should have won....
