I don't think so.
We'll see if he signs a long term deal. But as of right now, we don't know yet. |

SHUSH, our players are more dedicated than yours....FINAL!!
 - noename09
no, i just don't understand why it can't be that both players went through a lot and both deserved this award. i think what people neglect with Pacioretty is that given the viciousness of how he was injured (whether you think it was intentional or not), to get back on the ice months later and not have it effect how you play is pretty amazing. Richard Zednik was never the same after getting arm-bar'd by McLaren. |

I think goalies of their caliber, are at that level for a reason....because they can withstand pressures of the game/fans etc
Id be shocked if Price wanted out, hes a great goalie who shows a lot of passion and a few booing fans would be a rather lame excuse to leave. Hell stay...and Luongo will continue to play good hockey no matter where he goes. Really dont think he actually has any problems with pressure...I just feel the fanbase expected him to singlehandedly win them the cup, when the rest of the team was failing to support him and score when needed. Anyways....no need to rehash this. |

i don't think he wants out necessarily, i just don't think he's ready to commit long term at this point. if they don't do something about their offence in the next year or two, i'm sure he'll want out. he must get tired of knowing that if he gives up more than one goal, he's gonna lose. |

Honestly, if I was a player, the Masterton would be the last award I'd want to win. In it's current formula, mind you.
It has become a "comeback from injury award" instead of a perseverance/sportsmanship/dedication to hockey award. - Pecafan Fan
Pretty sure Lady Byng is not at the top of a lot of players' lists
except maybe, was she hot, or did she have like great big .....appendages?
WTF I did not type "appendages". I am being censored.

I give him a Weisers clap....bout it. And I clap a slight bit harder for Lupul...but barely any different. I dont really care either way...just agreed with your buddy ol pal that the award is turning into who got injured the worst and came back. |

Don't envy the Habs at where their at.
When I look at the Habs of today, they are in a very similar position as to where the Leafs were about 3 years ago. Very few prospects and a team that isn't good enough right now.
At least the Habs have a world class goalie though. That is one major piece that is already taken care of. |

not even close. the Habs are a ways from contending but they're nowhere close to where the Leafs were when Burke took over. first off, they have a number of yougn pieces already producing at the NHL level: Price, Subban, Pacioretty, Desharnais. they've got other promising young guys in the lineup like Leblanc, Eller and Emelin. they've got the 3rd overall coming into the fold. and unlike the Leafs, they've held onto their draft picks. that's why they've got two excellent defencemen prospects in Beaulieu and Tinordi, and another solid one in Ellis. up front is where the organization is thin and where there's a lot of work to do. but if you think this organization is starting from scratch, you're way off. |

Dastyuk is routinely nominated for both the Byng and the Selke... - Big_Lightnin
True, but I think Datsyuk was more an exception to the rule when it came to defensive forwards. He's one of the few elite forwards who could do it all, score sick goals, defend well, not take penalties, etc. |

I don't usually quote Cox, but the man speaks the truth here:

I'm sure BB is happy to take advice from the Toroto Star's tennis reporter on how he should run the team........
Cox is famous for being a 2nd guesser, but has no solution himself on how to build the team.

EXACTLY. i hate Cox but he's right on the money with this...
this is what always happens with the leafs.. they run with some youth.. and just as they begin to gel and become something decent they are all traded or moved to make room for veteran guys on the tail end of their careers ion some stupid attempt to be competitive in the post season
and it never works.... ever.
steve sullivan.. we let him go unprotected in the waiver draft and protected guys like hogland.. too young... not part of the current picture steve sullivan.. the same steve sullivan who is still playing and has 730 career points - Dozzer
Steen too. That was a terrible deal. Cliffy was a bad interim GM for us: supposed to unload salaries, but took on a bunch of poop too (Stempniak, Finger). |

Pssst, he doesn't have to, he's just a sports writer. And if you read the article, he's saying they should keep guys like Gardiner and the 5th instead of dishing them off for aging goaltenders. |

Not that much different other than goalie.
A few years ago, the Leafs had some decent forwards Grabo and Kuli and MacArthur and a superstar with Kessel. The defense had Phaneuf and Beauchemin. Some decent prospects with high hopes at the time...... kadri and Schenn.
Not that much different. |

What aging goaltender?? Luongo??
Anybody that thinks Burke is going to trade anything of value for Luongo then truly doesn't understand the buisness aspect of running a hockey team |
