What aging goaltender?? Luongo??

Anybody that thinks Burke is going to trade anything of value for Luongo then truly doesn't understand the buisness aspect of running a hockey team

Again, read the article; I'm just paraphrasing it.

Splitting hairs here, but I wouldn't call Kessel a superstar.
- gravyface

You may not like his game, but make no mistake, he is an ELITE goal scorer. Which makes him a superstar.

Pretty sure Lady Byng is not at the top of a lot of players' lists

except maybe, was she hot, or did she have like great big .....appendages?

Pssst, he doesn't have to, he's just a sports writer. And if you read the article, he's saying they should keep guys like Gardiner and the 5th instead of dishing them off for aging goaltenders.

I'm sure I could find Cox articles saying the opposite. Point I was trying to make is that Cox is not a hockey guyand pretty much says the opposite of the majority to get readers.

Kinda like Berger was but a tennis reporter.

Oh I agree, again like I said (do I need to drop a "learn to read" U_G bomb here? Jesus), I never usually agree with Cox, but on this article, I do.

Steen too. That was a terrible deal. Cliffy was a bad interim GM for us: supposed to unload salaries, but took on a bunch of poop too (Stempniak, Finger).
- gravyface

have you ever followed that trade through?

we sent steen and coliacovo, two nhl regulars, out.

and after all the draft day trades and additional moves it added up so that we got Petter Granberg, Daniel Brodin, David Broll and Matt Jones

So is Scott Hartnell...

Poor comparison....... hartnell is not an elite scorer. Scoring 37 goals once in 10 years is a career year, nothing more

I'm pretty sure this is the consensus...

Generational Talent: Gretzky, Lemieux, Richard (maybe Crosby, Malkin eventually)
Superstar: Crosby, Malkin, Giroux, Chara, Weber
Star: Kessel, Neal, Suter

I stand corrected, why don't people know that just using the pseudo-html tags will solve the censorship?

dick.

Yeah. He usually has a few brainfarts throughout the season, but it's part of his game.

Never gonna win a lady byng, though.

The obvious difference between Kessel's goalscoring and Hartnell's is that you know Kessel can put up 30+ goals consistently, regardless of who he plays with... Hartnell is really inconsistant in his production.

You do realise that Kessel is probably going to end up with a 500 goal scoring career

If you classify that as a star over superstar, well thats your opinion then.

I disagree

I'm sure BB is happy to take advice from the Toroto Star's tennis reporter on how he should run the team........

Cox is famous for being a 2nd guesser, but has no solution himself on how to build the team.

- JFJ

Ya Cox is a real piece of crap. He has absolutely nothing of value to say.
We need to keep Gardiner and try and get Schultz...great insight cox!

If Kessel improves on his point totals from last season, and continues to be keep it in the 90+ point range...than he can be labelled as a superstar...but right now...not a chance...he's a star player.

Harntnell has averaged 20.18 goals per season over 11 seasons

You seriously want to compare scoring prowess between Hartnell and Kessel??

Seriously?????????

No.

I'm just saying, 37 goals isn't elite.

Is Matt Moulson a superstar?
