seriously though, those games were tough to watch. Was a different team on the ice. Instead of the rest of the guys stepping up to make up for Kessel being shut down, it was like they all said "well (frank) it, if Phil can't score on these guys, WTF are we gonna do?"

We have finished in the bottom ten since 2008. It is not unrealistic at all to think we finish there again.

I say we roll the dice with Scrivens/Reimer. Lou doesnt even guarantee playoffs, as he plays like sh!t the first couple months, usually heats up around Dec.

He pretty much does. The leafs most gaping deficiency is goaltending. Fill that will an amazing goaltender and we'll most likely make the playoffs. As to the longevity, that's another story.

But you get the idea.

Playing with a better center doesn't mean you'll double your output. Kessel creates his own chances more often than not. He's not standing by the net waiting for a guy to feed him the puck for a tap in.

His body was extremely beat up ....of course the trainers would know this and therefore the management would know this....hence the early buy out.

not much they can do about it though, aside from trade his rights, and even then, any team that's confident they can sign him would just wait a week and a half rather than give up too much, so the return for trading rights wouldnt' be impactful
