Derek Roy wouldn't be a smart pick-up.

Ryan and Nash would cost too much to be worth trading.

Parise is the best option, but most likely unobtainable.

- A_Tree

i gotta say, bobby ryan might be one of those guys..

if he's attainable, he's not the type you sit back and go "we'll just wait for the next franchise forward to come along". don't think nash is to far behind.

just my opinion..

Sorry guys but going into the season with Reimer and Scrivens is a bad idea. How soon people forget that 2 years ago Reimer started the year in the ECHL and could barely qualify as a blip on the radar. He played 40 good games and half of them we were completely out of the running for the playoffs in his first season. He then took a giant dump in his pants last season, I seem to remember 3 games in a row with a goal on the first shot? I beleive this guy can maybe find his form and perhaps becaome a quality net minder but he is hardly a blue chip, can't miss prospect. Burke has gone into the past couple seasons banking on his goalies playing to their maximum potential whilst recieving their worst case scenario and if this trend continues and he goes into the season with Reimer we are screwed and he loses his job. Its a gamble I don't think he can afford to make and one that I hope he doesn't take, I have watched way to many crappy games and I think a safe goaltending option is the way to go.

I don't think its goaltending as much as defense issues

lou is as close to worthless as it gets, thanks your genious gm signing him into a retirement home. for a team in a different scenario, just missing a starting goaltender to compete for a cup, great idea. for the leafs at this point, it'd be rediculous giving up solid assets, just to have a guy who's going to be 37 and still costing us an arm and a leg by the time the leafs are competing for anything.

other than that, the mindset in leaf nation kills me at times. people want to pass on the franchise forwards because of the pricetags, and just act like there will be a better time and place to be acquiring guys that can be the corner stone of your team for years to come. these guys typically aren't just out there on a regular basis, for the leafs to decide.. yup, we actually want a franchise forward now, better be less than last time.

Almost as bad as Schenn, Gardiner, and 2012 5th overall for Luongo.

Just because hes on the leafs first line doesn't make him a top 6 forward, he would be in Chicago now on vancouvers team.

Best fit for LU IMO is Chicago, although its unlikley they deal together. Leaf nation needs to be patient with Reimer. Dude had a terrible neck injury which never totally healed last year. Befor the injury he was playing great. Take a page outta the Habs book, they were patient with Price, LA was patient with Quick. Lets give him a full healthy year. We're not contending next year.....

um, not for nothing, but Reimer hasn't played in the ECHL since the 08-09 season, and he won the championship that year, while the Marlies were still undergoing the "Pogge" experiment.

We shall see. Dubs will get the reigns this year. He looked fantastic the last half of last season.
