I doubt Gardiner would thrive under Hitchcock.
- Atomic Wedgie

What if Hitchcock agreed to give him a reacharound?

As I lay Dyings new CD didn't impress me as much as their last 2, but it was decent. Can't say I've heard of Ghost though. Have you heard of Oh, Sleeper? Their new album is pretty good.
- wolfos412

Yeah, i've seen them live.

Huddle knows them.

Their breakdown when he says "What do you stand for?!" gets me moving.

Makes me want to throwdown.

remind me never to get into a handshake deal with you

as with all things, there are unspoken rules

is it legal? yup

is it a jackass move to the team that used an asset to draft him? also yup.

- Dozzer

Unspoken rules that Schultz never agreed to.

Feel free to enter into any handshake deal with me. I'll live up to anything I agree to.

Just like Schultz has.

Really?

Hmmm - that surprises me.

It seems to me that Philly would be a preferred destination - low travel, always competitive.

Even if they draft a D and he wins the Calder, Edmonton isnt winning the cup next year, so why does he have to come in and be a star the first season after he was drafted?

Look I love Stamkos, but Doughty just won the Cup. Maybe that is what Edmonton should consider. I just think that , outside of the Crosbys and Lemiouxs, its way easy to get an Yzerman than a Bourque.

- Jimmy_T

Edmonton needs to start winning, they have the young core and it is time they take the next step(not the cup but winning and progressing), waiting 4 or so years for a Dman to develop into the top guy they need is not going to work.

You can't build forever.

Well, that's good, because it would be very, very hard to reach around Hitchcock.

Very similar situation to Toronto with Philly being more competitive and Toronto being a much nicer city.

too rigid a view wedgie

there will be consequences down the road if he continues to play these games

if you go against the norm, legal be damned.. it tags you with a certain reputation

moving forward.. think any GM wont think about this when he is in a contract year at the deadline?

sure they will.. and they might move him just out of fear he wont resign and they will lose him for nothing

your choices in life have a way of following you around

I totally disagree. They had 4 years to get his name on a contract. 4 Years. They could have signed or traded him any time. In baseball, you cant even trade a guy if you don't sign him and they pass up signings with million dollar bonuses to go to school for 4 years all the time. I just don't believe Schultz not signing with Anaheim represents any kind of character flaw. Plus, this is a guy who got picked 43. He might be a tad overhyped.

Does anyone know why hes FA and not back in the draft?

I really wanted Toronto to get HitchRichard. The guy even managed to get Columbus into the playoffs. He has to be the best coach in hockey.

How is it you know these upstanding lads? Tell them to keep up the good work

Also If they need a guitarist or bass player, I play 6 and 7 string guitar and 4 and 5 sting bass.

Haha. Me and a buddy went to see them in Toronto with Architects, Every Time I Die (killer band), and Bring me The Horizon, but they didn't make it because of van issues. So the next day we drove down to Buffalo only to find out that the show was sold out.

So we walked around and ran into Micah unloading the trailer, and asked if he wanted help. Helped them load in and then he asked us if we were coming to the show. Explained our situation and he got us on the guest list.

Saw the show, then helped them load out, and spent the entire time chatting it up with Lucas and Shane. Eventually Lucass had to do some video interview so we were about to leave and head back and he stopped on camera and yelled "dudes-- come to the bar with us!" so we went down the road to a wing place, ordered a boat load of beer and wings, ate til we were sick and then since then we've been good friends, haha.

Hahah, and I don't normally bother listening to anything made before say 1995, quality is just poor and probably has been playing on the radio for 30 years.

Only stuff I can say I like that's older is some Dream Theater stuff, Some of Rushes more creative songs and King Crimsons 21st century schizoid man.

- wolfos412

What a narrow view. I dont know how anyone can live like that. I listen to all genres across all years. In my 5 disc changer right now: Stone Roses
(89) The Smiths Meat is Murder (86) New Pornographers Twin Cinema (2005?) Snow Patrol (2003) and Weezer (01)
