JvR's hip is a concern for me. I'm worried he will have issues during the season. You can rehab all you want but when the games start your body is asked to perform at another level. - stveshdy
As it should be. I still wonder about all this will he need surgery, he doesn't need surgery stuff. What exactly is the injury? Is it an impingement? Which can be healed with therapy. Or a torn labrum as some have said, which needs surgery to repair the tear.
But that 7.8 million until 2018, for a guy who could end up being a lateral move if JVR does get healthy, is just too damn much.
Get Weber at almost any cost.
OR
Resign Carle, add sandpaper to the blueline, and get a big defensive forward. Done. Draft a defenseman at #20. Done. Stay the course you set last season, it is the right course with a few corrections here and there.

Lets break down Nash and Ryan without worrying about packages and Cap hits.
Who is the better scorer?
Who is the better Hitter?
Who is better defensively?
Who is the better leader?
Who is the better Skater?
Who has the better up-side?
Who has the better personality? - RooNosHockey

I wonder what the flyers are sending Carolina to get the 8TH pick? - vejim
I read somewhere on twitter someone mentioned JVR as a hurricane. Not sure if it was in jest or not. Can't remember who posted it |

I think the Flyers would rather have Ryan than Nash. The Flyers like both players but they have always loved Bobby Ryan. I think if they move JvR and its for a forward it should be Ryan hes much cheaper and younger. |

Bryz was so impressed with the history of the city that I am surprised he didnt know the history of our fans. I watched Mike Schmidt get booed constantly and Bryz is worried about finding peace in this city? - vejim
I don't suppose you support the minting of a three dollar bill by any chance? |

I agree with this. Weber is the only interesting player out there given the Flyers needs. If not him, fill in some holes and let the young bucks have another year to up their game with siginificant minutes. |

Yea I had a nice 2 and a half hours of fighting with what I suppose to be shore traffic, (had business matters in the shore area this morning) no a/c in my car and was relieved upon my switching to the nerve racking 94.1 that no news on my beloved o/b was reported. Right now the old adage applies for me with this team... no news is good news. |

Without question. You still have money to make other moves and probably dont have to blow up the team. |

Does that get us a much better prospect than standing pat and keeping Read? I'm not so sure. Sure it will be a better prospect, but not worth Read IMO.

It should be "Homer in Nashville making a serious offer for Weber." But i'm not telling my source. |
