Which is why you are ready to move on from him..
He is a 23 year old big forward.
Look at some of the best big forwards in the game, and see when they had their break out years.
Remember, JvR was on pace (in the early going prior to injury) for 40 goals last season. - jak521
Flyers obviously see something with him that has them questioning him. Rumors of him being traded are non-stop and constantly out there. |

Way too many IF's with JvR for me. I am ready to move on from him. Just not a fan. - Flyers2821
Well, I do hope I get the chance to hand you a big fat bag of "I told you so's" this season |

I completely agree..
I just dont think he gets traded. It doesnt make sense. Suter is gonna sign elsewhere, and then they will ink Weber long term. - jak521
i dont think nashville is holding back, i think its weber. He probably doesnt want to be there anymore. I mean he made 7+mill there last year. If suter leaves i actually think that would definitely make him not re-sign there. |

My guess is, Nashville loses them both. |

100% pure speculation on your part...
the reason there are some many "no-stop" trade rumors is because the teams around the league think highly of him. |

Or they see an opportunity to address a bigger need, or to improve the team. If rumors of a player being traded are indicative of them being questionable, we should want nothing to do with Ryan and Nash. |

I think thats where we dont see eye to eye. He told them he wanted to see them prove that they were serious. What did they do?
Signed their great goalie long term, we the most active team around the deadline, suspended a few players from a playoff game because they were out of control.
Thats pretty serious to me. |

How is trading JvR (who is seen by you as a potential 40 goal scorer) for Nash (who is a 30-40 goal scorer, addressing needs? |

It seems to me that players become better (from a perception standpoint) once they are free agents or trade bait.
From a GM perspective, it must be very difficult to allocate financial resources between forwards v. d v. goalie, and to balance young v. prime v. old.
If you have 10 good young players, they will all need raises at some point. To balance that from a timing perspective must be difficult.
Some GM's (Eagles) may prefer to stay solid forever. Other teams may just go for it and worry about future cap consequences later.
Not often discussed directly by us but always very interesting.
If you had to identify 5-7 players to keep for the next 5 years, who are they?
G. Coburn. Schenn. Coots. Bryz. JVR. WTF knows...... |

Its a ridiculous statement in my mind.
Weber has been in rumors the past 2 seasons. Jonathon Quick was in rumors. |

He is talking about trading JvR in a package for Weber.
Trading JvR for Nash would be a terrible move. |

How do you know what I see JVR as? And Nash isn't the only name JVR's been attached to as far as rumors go. JVR is going to be attached to all trade rumors due to his age, upside, and an assuredly moderate cap hit over the next six years. |

I am not saying they WILL trade JvR for Nash, but we know the Flyers are linked to Nash and JvR will clearly be involved if that happens. Moving JvR for a d-man makes more sense, I agree. |

It says that we have enough confidence in our defense that we are not going to spend a crazy amount on a guy who isnt worth 7 million, and focus that money on the offense. I dont think there are many teams in the game that would be willing to spend 7 million on Suter, 7 million on Rinne, and 7+ on Weber.
Also it could say that Suter wants to go somewhere else where he would be the #1.
More speculation. |

That could be the case, but if Im serious about winning i dont stay in Nashville. Their retention of players is horrible. LOL thats where the flyers get most of their defensemen from . |

Also, guys like Coots, Schenn, Voracek, and Simmonds are going to limit his ice time especially on the PP.
I like JVR, but I see the rational for trading him. |

I wasn't phased at the idea until I saw Rob Zombie's name attached to it. Who's idea was that? - BulliesPhan87
I'm surprised someone let him "acquire" the rights to make it. I "guess" that would be an Ed Snider decision. |

No. Because the Flyers go outside the box all the time with their trades. Nothing would surprise me and they are an impatient front office. |
