Ever heard of Mikhail Grabovski? I'd take him before any Habs player.

That's a fact.

- thomas81

Of course, everyone would take Grabovsky before Price, or Subban, or Pacioretty ...

There is no doubt in my mind thats true

Thank god you are just an internet GM

Please name me a Habs player that you would ahead of Grabo?

Basically, you're just a bad talent evaluator. Grabo would have been the 2nd most attractive UFA this summer.

Tha would be ideal, our 4 d prospects are a year or 2 away from contributing to the team, now they need to rebuild the forward depth, it will take a couple years of solid drafting. Habs have 1 st rounder and 2 2nd rounder this year, next year they have their 1st rounder and 3 2nd rounder. That will go a long way in rebuilding the prospect pool IF (big if) they draft well.

Bergevin is a smart guy-- picks like Shaw go a long way in my trust in him.

I also like Dudley, as he spends more time in CHL rinks than almost anybody, but I hope he learned from a couple past mistakes in Florida.

I'm wondering why people are so high on Forsberg. He seems to have not so great stats on a second tier league. The only good thing that I hear from him is that he's more NHL ready than the other prospects. Having a player play one or two year earlier than another his not that great if he finally play on the 3rd line were the others would be 1st/2nd line players.

I'm in no way an expert on the draft, so maybe I'm missing something. What are the positives with Forsberg ? Has he really the same kind of potential than Grigorenko or Galchenyuk ?

I just don't want an Eller #2, we already have one of those.

- Popofjc

I know Forberg's stats are not as impressive as most people like to see. But he's already playing against men so it's harder for a young player because he has yet to mature physically. As a comparison, he has more points than Alfredsson at the same age.

You also have to consider age, as I recall, Forsberg is almost a year younger than the other top prospects (almost 2 compared to Murray). With a whole year to develop, he could surpass everyone.

As for skill, he's obviously not as flashy as Yakupov or Gally but he brings alot to the table. His shot is underestimated, he works hard and does everything well.

Worst case scenario, he turns into a great 2nd line winger. Best case scenario: Star powerforward.

Plek had 52, Grabs had 51. (Missed about 10 games)
- Brian Huddle

And Pleks played with 4th liner players for at least a 1/4 of the season.

LOL.

Basically he's Gabriel Landeskog. He scores more from farther out because of the shot, whereas Gabe is more in tight type scoring... but a lot of similarities.

I'd add Pacioretty aka MR. Masterton , Cole and Plekanec but I understand it's more debatable (especially the last 2).

Grabovski played with "I suck at scoring all of a sudden Kulemin". His assists likely go up if Kulemin could have converted like normal, but he had an abysmal year.

Price, PK, Max, Pleks...

And just because Garbo MIGHT have been the 2nd most attractive UFA this summer, I think that speaks to a weaker class of UFAs.

But I guess in your opinion that would make Grabs more attractive than either Suter or Parise.... so...

I'd take Grabs to Cole. Think him and Plek is debatable based on what you want for a 2nd line/1B type center.

Patches... yep. I'd take Patches to Grabs.

So Forsberg would look good on Tavares wing?

Cole is great right now but how long can he maintains that rythm ? He's getting older. I hope he still have many good years under him, but who knows ?

Price

And your second point has nothing to do with what we are discussing... but I will play along, you are wrong on that point as well.

Good points. I just got the impression that the worst case in Forsberg case is more like a 3rd liner. But lke I said I'm no expert on prospects.

You'd take an average offensive defenseman with limited defensive skills ahead of Grabovski?

I guess that's why you're writting on hockeybuzz.

Talk about a terrible way to start your pro career.

Then again, with their current line-up, Galchenyuk will likely play on the first line.
