So the Av's are being aggressive and trying to trade for Parise's rights? I like it! |

I would rather have Parise, but if losing him means I can either A) get a draft pick or 2 and Kobasew or B) Take the 6-7 million per and sign a forward or 2 I would rather do that. - Kovaltron

Someone is dreaming. Parise can get a better deal any number of better places to play, if he would sign that cheap the Devils would already have him locked up. |

Allegedly. That is if anything that's being reported is true. The only reason I'd talk about it is because Eurolanche doesn't report something if they don't at least find it to have some substance. That said, who knows if anything is true. |

I think Varlamov needs Giguere. I would not trade players for his rights. I do a first rounder at the most. |

Put a goal scorer on either side of Stastny, he becomes worth $6.6 million immediately, with his vision and passing.
Landeskog with O'Reilly is a good pairing as well, as will Mueller and Duchene. Avs would have three solid scoring lines
Parise-Stastny-Jones
Landeskog-O'Reilly-Downie
McGinn-Duchene-Mueller/Hejduk
That's not bad, not bad at all. |

Also interesting that the rumor cites Parise's friendship with Stastny and Johnson, two Avs who are, according to rumors, being shopped. - TheGreatNumber8
It's funny that when reporters think their teams should get Stastny or Johnson, both Stastny and Johnson are automatically rumored to being shopped around. |

This is kind of interesting considering the rumors, not too long ago, that Suter had a list of about 4 teams he was seriously considering. Detroit, Minny, Nash and Colorado.
Being Parise's buddy and now having them both linked to Colorado is very interesting. |

I really wanted to not like you because of your comments in the other thread, but you are right on in this thread..haha I would rather take Marty for another year and let Wedgewood or Clermont back him up and then go from there and see if they can handle the NHL. I really believe Wedgewood is going to be a good NHL goalie. Not Marty obviously but that is asking alot. I dont want Giguere. - Kovaltron
Im a fan of hockey. I have my teams I root for and I have my teams I dislike. I have seen players leave via FA or by trades because contracts dont always work out for your favorite players that people think will stay because they were drafted by a certain team.
Smyth, Gretzky, Butch Goring, Mark Messier, Blake, Robitaille.....Many players have left organizations they have loved for better opportunities.
Most likely Parise isnt staying in NJ. Sad for NJ fans but great for the player. We will see. |

It would be sad to see him go but we are pretty used to seeing our big players leave or retire at this point. They always seem to find a way to right the ship. The only thing giving me hope is what happened with Elias. He was offered alot more by the Rangers and another team but stayed in NJ and that was past July 1st also. We will see I guess. |

This rumor came from a knucklehead on twitter named Joe Spinelli. He has no idea what he's talking about. He had Parise's rights traded to Dallas a done deal the other day. His 'source' is someone from the Devil's organization who allegedly gets on Skype with him and spills all the organization's plans...just because you know, he's Joe Spinelli for goodness sake. After all who wouldn't tell Joe Spinelli everything you know about anything? The crowned prince Spinelli has subsequently deleted all related tweets because they were of course complete nonsense. |

Although precedent suggests otherwise, nobody can say with complete certainty that Lou will never trade negotiating rights to a pending UFA. However, the thing that makes this rumour ridiculous is the contract terms; at $7 million for 7 years, NJ would just sign him and lower payroll elsewhere (i.e. Tallinder) to cushion the Kovy hike in 2012-2013.
If Zach leaves NJ, its because he has a heavyweight contender in mind, like Boston or LA, OR he wants a monster contract (well above $7 million per over 7 years).

I would rather get nothing and use the money to sign FA's. Giguere stinks. Kobasew is a grinder (we have enough) I dont care about draft picks unless they are top 5. - Kovaltron
Kobasew makes what 1.25mill and so does Giguere which is what any back up would cost. Plus your getting two picks and still have plenty of money to spend. Devils fans should love this deal |

It could be a 7th round pick. If thats all teams are offering for his rights and he's going FA anyway, you get a 7th round pick and like it. |
