i'm just waiting for Galchenyuk + Buffalo Sabres to be uttered in the same sentence group.
I would agree... Leopold changed when he came to Buffalo a lot like Myers has...
They both started off as very above average offensive minded d-men.. but both are not well-rounded players that don't really stand out statistically in either.
I really don't know how much Leopold has enjoyed his time in Buffalo.. maybe he has really enjoyed it and stays on a 2 year deal or something.. the guy had 128 Blocked shots last year and 150 more minutes on the ice than the entire sabres roster.
i wouldn't mind keeping Leopold with Ehrhoff to be our vet presence. - JVince117
is there any reason why ehrhoff and, say, myers, can't play 25 minutes as a top pair?
pretty sure that c-bus, buffalo and galchenyuk will not be in the same sentence until edmonton makes yakupov their pick at #1...if they do in fact make him their pick

I agree with the media and Buffalo for that matter... i don't think this draft class is worth trading up to get their top talent.. there are too many questions with EACH AND EVERY player..
if it isn't coming off an ACL injury.. then its that they are Russian.. if its not that they are Russian.. its because they are 5'10 or shorter..

Darcy just turned down a trade including the 21st overall pick.
Earlier, Darcy also rejected a trade offer for a player on the Sabres roster that would hurt "team chemistry."
via Kevin Snow on the Sabres Hockey Hotline, reference to an interview earlier this morning - rcostel77
thats it....? thats all the info given??
WE could assume with that Darcy was offered Steve Bernier or Andrew Peters for the 21st pick.
I am atleast happy to see that he is keeping team chemistry in his mind... I wonder who it could have been for though that he put his foot down like that... Myers? Stafford?

according to baker, the sabres (as well as every other team) has had their eyes on galchenyuk for a couple of years...his injury, according to devine, left his scouts with notes from the previous season...
he's big, born in america, has skills and has intangibles...if they're gonna move up, he'd probably be the target...
baker opened up his player preview for the draft with this, "I've been waiting two years to say this: SabresProspects fully endorses Alex Galchenyuk as the Sabres top target in the 2012 draft."

a gamble? yes
worth taking? yes, imo - b0s0o1
I think I trust baker more then any other regarding sabre prospects, including our current GM
