You won't find those in this draft Vince.
The only guy I would even try to trade up for is Faksa.
He can play 3rd line center right now and do very well.
Ask Huddle. - kingcong39
that was my point... they aren't in this draft. |
|

|
If we are trading up for an NHL ready prospect... it is not a defensemen that we need to get...
We need to get the next sidney crosby, evgeni malkin, steven stamkos, john tavares type player. - JVince117
sorry...the ryan murray part was from the jackets perspective...good chance he'd be their pick at #2 if yakupov went first...
he looks to be nhl-ready and would be with the jackets from the get-go |
|
|
|
as pointed out, every pick that they gave up were extra from trades...
i believe the odds of a second-rounder making it is like 15 or 20-1 (if somebody has that info feel free to post it,) fourth-rounders are worse - b0s0o1
whether they were acquired or their picks you should not be giving them up in order to over pay for a mediocure goalie who is never goign to be more than a backup. |

The overall point is how bad Bob is as a goalie, or should I say how mediocre. - kingcong39
Didn't he man the net for 2 wins against us in the 2010 playoffs? |

*shrugs*
the philly defense was pretty bad last season with the loss of pronger and other injuries...
in the playoffs, the only defense worse was the penguins, and look what it did to fluery |

at this point i shultz any more ready for the NHL than Pysyk? i really know limited about him but i don't think he has played an nhl game yet, has he? - SabresFaninIndiana
I don't know. I would think they might be pretty even development wise. Unless we move someone, there's no room in our top 6 anyway, so I would think that Pysyk starts the season in Rochester. I think McNabb is there was well because there's just no room right now. |

possibly he also got pulled once if not twice.. he can be good but he can't be it for more than 3 games in a row.. maybe buffalo should offer him 6.25 mil per year |

ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh then yes...
CLB already has 17.3M invested in 4 d-men for next year.. if they are gonna move Nash.. they need an NHL ready F to put butts in the seat.
If SJ's offer really is Clowe, Pavelski, Demers, and a 1st rounder..
They would have
Clowe - Pavelski - Huselius
Prospal - Brassard - Umberger (center)?
they need to add a RW to that group.. BAD. |

I like Clowe and Pavelski, but neither of them are 1st line players.

They are planning on making room Goose.
Weber is definitely gone and looks like another will be out the door as well.
Probably Sekera, per Homer. |

I thought you were an advocate of getting Pavelski for our first line??
Clowe i read is the only NHLer to score 20 or 25+ goals and be in 30+ fights or something like that. |

maybe not but it is also just another one of the stupid things they have done.. when you add them all up it equates a crappy product on the ice.. |

The Kings are the 2012 Stanley Cup Champions, so that's how I base it. The year the playoffs actually take place. |

Planning on and actually happening can be 2 totally different things though. I'll believe it when I see it. |

The overall problem, and to me it's a big one, with the Sabres, more then the D or needing Miller to be consistently better, is the forward group.
Right now, they have two solid lines.
Vanek - Hodgson - Pominville
Foligno - Ennis - Stafford
After that? Scraps.
Roy, Gerbe, Leino, McCormick, Kaleta, and both Adam & Tropp.
Constructing a 4th line is easy.
The big, BIG problem is constructing a solid 3rd line out of the above.
I don't think they can. Not an effective one at least.
Ennis and his line are a perfect 3rd line to me because they will draw the lesser pairing D and can create havoc in the other teams zone.
Who on any 3rd line you can come up with from the parts above is going to scare you due to their effectiveness? |

Ryan Murray claims that the Blue Jackets brass "grilled him". Yakupov also told Alex Galchenyuk that the management in Columbus is "mean".
Not a very good first impression by the Jackets |
