Clowe i read is the only NHLer to score 20 or 25+ goals and be in 30+ fights or something like that.

I've honestly never mentioned him, but I do like him as a player. But he's not a 1st line player. 2nd or 3rd is where he should be. I'd love him on my team since we have Ennis and Hodgson as our other 2 centers he would have to be a 1st line guy. He'd probably fit perfect with what they're trying to do here.

He did mention that a few days ago. Said he was hoping he'd be done and have his Directv installed in time to watch the draft tonight.

The overall problem, and to me it's a big one, with the Sabres, more then the D or needing Miller to be consistently better, is the forward group.

Right now, they have two solid lines.

Vanek - Hodgson - Pominville
Foligno - Ennis - Stafford

After that? Scraps.

Roy, Gerbe, Leino, McCormick, Kaleta, and both Adam & Tropp.

Constructing a 4th line is easy.

The big, BIG problem is constructing a solid 3rd line out of the above.
I don't think they can. Not an effective one at least.
Ennis and his line are a perfect 3rd line to me because they will draw the lesser pairing D and can create havoc in the other teams zone.

Who on any 3rd line you can come up with from the parts above is going to scare you due to their effectiveness?

Planning on and actually happening can be 2 totally different things though. I'll believe it when I see it.

yeah that's my approach. i really thought we'd get Richards or a richards-like player last off-season and when it didn't happen i decided to temper my feelings towards "the big move"

the hodson trade was refreshing but i still think they need to make a huge move and am thinking it's less and less likely. hopefully i'm wrong but we'll all have to wait and see.

i don't know who came up with that trade, but i doubt the sharks would do that...anyhow....

it all depends upon what edmonton does...c-bus has the option of drafting galchenyuk or murray...or even trading it for more picks to off-set the picks they gave in the bob-deal

Just to get the conversations more interesting here and I know we are all skeptical of Bob and his sources. The only reason I follow him is that he said that the Sabres and Blues would complete a trade the night before the Sabres got Boyes.

I do agree that Pavelski is kind of a 1B center.. he hasn't shown bonafide star power to be a 1A center..

Why are we putting Roy at wing and Adam at center? That doesn't make sense. Especially on a Lindy Ruff coached team. In order to play center you have to play defense and that's why Adam ended up back in Rochester.

gonna ask my baws if he can put wgr on the in-store radio before he leaves.

maybe not but it is also just another one of the stupid things they have done.. when you add them all up it equates a crappy product on the ice..

ehhh... i think we have known all along that it is possible that Miller could be traded.. but they are not shopping him.. people are just checking in on him..

I still do think we have a chance to trade for Parise's rights.. I really do.. with the Devils owing 77M this summer in debt.. there is no way they could approve to add more salary to that team.

I think he means Leino - Roy - Adam.

While that line is interesting, I think it's bad to awful overall.
It shows the largest problem on Buffalo right now, and that is it's ability to form a 3rd strong line behind the Hodgson trio and the Ennis trio that will be dangerous all over the ice and able to score goals.

They don't have a combination that would work right now, and that means the other two lines face the best D the majority of the time.
