Huddle had this is his blog:
- I've heard that Buffalo has told Tom Wilson they'll take him if he's available at their pick (21). Take it with a grain of salt, as it's not confirmed.

You can't really say that means that's what he's leaning toward. He doesn't want to show his hand either. It's all just what I like to call "media speak." It's what he tells the media because it's the "safe" thing to say. It doesn't hurt him one way or another. |

A lot of people think Samuelsson shouldn't go until round 2. But he's been all over the board so it's hard to say for sure. Maybe he'll fall. Who knows. - HonkFortheGoose
He'll go round 1.
If he makes it out of round 1, Edmonton will take him at 32. |

how about a Derek Roy for a Stephen Weiss trade? seems about fair less cap for Sabres. |

really?? That's the answer? Hodgson as the first line center? The problem with Buffalo is most the team is overpaid, glorified 3rd liners. Hodgson is a kid still learning his game. And Foligno had a great quarter of a season and now his an automatic second liner? your counting on alot from kids just starting there carriers. I'm not saying they can't do it but you shouldn't have to count on them this soon. - sabrescupbound
Notice that I didn't say he was the first line, or that either was the first line.
My point, that so eloquently made, was that Buffalo only has 2 solid/good lines right now.
They desperately need to address seriously upgrading the quality of another line before they can be considered a real contender for the Cup. |

Imagine if Buffalo got him with their first 2nd round pick after getting say Ceci and Wilson.
That would be a nice draft on their part. |

Not sure if you realize, but when we had our great run right out of the lockout, most of the guys on that team were kids. They were good because they didn't know any better and they played hard night in night out. Then they got comfortable and we have the mess we currently have. It's time to hand the torch to the young kids and let them run with it. - HonkFortheGoose
True but there were some great Vets for leaders to. This team is kinda lost in that department. Who's the great leaders? Pomminville? Vanek? Stafford?. If this happens it could backfire and regress there carriers. |

Yeah but he won't last that long.
His play in the playoffs really helped boost his stock. |

Roy and a pick for Bjugstad.
During the summer of 2008, Bjugstad turned down an invitation to train with the USA Hockey National Team Development Program out of a sense of loyalty to his high school teammates
Thats a leader IMO. |

Sorry about that. I assumed when you said Vanek/Hodgson/Pom, I took it as the first line. IMO there's a lot to be done before Buffalo has real cup potential and I don't think Vanek's in it. He demands to much cap for the player he truly is but that's another story. Buffalo still needs that anchor on the front line center position |
