I know....but I haven't seen anything in Bobrovsky that impresses me, and obviously neither did Philly. I think BOB is the wrong guy. - The-O-G
Very true... maybe for hte price it was the best offer though..
bad draft class... gives away 2 picks in it.. owell.
Bernier would have been too expensive |

You would take Teravainen at #1?
Im sure you've said that about every prospect in this years draft...... - jbold
This is what I hate about draft day. If you are a guy doesnt watch a lot of juniour hockey, he shouldnt have an opinion. I mean, drafting that kid number one - I have read dozens of draft articles, scouting reports, mock drafts etc. and not a single other person has that finish kid number one. Not one single person who has actually watched enough juniour hockey to have an opinion makes that choice. So, whats the point of just choosing a dude you really like?
If Montreal wants that kid, you have to think theyd trade down. But, who knows maybe you guys know something I dont, I am totally open to that possibliity. |

I think they want that #2 tho. - Oilfan19
I think that depends on who Edmonton takes. I get the feeling that the CBJ have a first and second favorite. If their first choice gets taken by Edmonton they'll trade down a bit and get the second choice (who is probably not as high on everyone's list). If their first choice is available at #2 then they'll grab him. Unless someone really wows Howson they probably won't trade the pick until the #1 overall has been selected. |

I saw a ranking thing earlier today that had Kadri as the biggest bust in NHL history.. haha. although not true because of guys like DiPietro and Yashin.. but it is what it is.. I got a good laugh from it. - JVince117
Yea, Leaf picks are overplayed.. He is only a bust in the sense that we figured he could be a top caliber 1st liner.. It hasn't passed as an option, but Id put it at 2% chance now.. He will most likely still be a capable NHLer.
Also, to add to your list of Busts, Daigle. |

What's the point of keeping them? Gearing up for a lengthy playoff run this coming season? |

I still don't get why CLB doesn't want Clowe, Pavelski, Demers and a 1st rounder.
Clowe AND Pavelski is a pretty good deal for the same amount of money going to Nash.
That is the best deal out there for them currently that I know of. - JVince117
Agreed , maybe now that Howson's acquired a goalie(wich I still think it's less then what Yzerman had to trade for Lindback) I wouldnt be surprised if a Nash deal goes down this afternoon.
That being said , I think Howson was waiting for something like this. |

Ya I agree...I just think they could have moved down a couple spots, still grabbed a great defenceman and got a solid goalie prospect too. I'm sure they could have traded up from their second rounder to get another late pick in the first and grabbed Subban. Bob sucks haha. I do hope it works out for them however. |

Anyone who thinks Kadri is a bust at 21 should just stop reading and talking about hockey. I could sit here and name you literaly a hundred and fifty players who became above average NHL regulars who did not become a regular in the first three years after being drafted.
You people are insane, and I guess little things like facts and history and the opinion of every nhl analyst arent gonna change your mind, but you should at least keep it to yourself. |

If you wanted it to be realistic, here is the trade:
TOR - Nash, Luongo
CBJ - 5th overall, Gardiner, Kadri, Connolly (cap)
VAN - Komi, 2012 2nd, Franson
CBJ and VAN are apparently asking for more than that, but that in my mind is equal value, and to me that is pointless. Why would we give up our future to sneak into the playoffs? - mfreedman

Kadri is not a bust, he is young and will be moving up in the line-up next year.. He was a PPG+ player in the AHL and I assume he has the potential to be a solid second liner... Gardiner couldn't crack the line-up? 21+ minutes on average for the year says differently. The 5th overall pick is of value like you said. Basically this addresses 3 big areas of concern for CBJ. Depth at the forward position, a solid defensive prospect, and a high draft pick to take whatever they need. Maybe not quite enough, but don't make it out to be the joke you are saying it is. - mfreedman
Franson not Gardiner
Kadri will never amount to anything in the NHL |
