Not sure if you guys saw this at all or if it was posted, didnt read through everything, with that said, I give you Bobby Ryan:

I take things personally," Ryan said. "Anaheim to me has been a team over the past year that really has shown me nothing to prove that they want me here, unfortunately. Obviously, it's not the ideal situation. When you get drafted, you want to win championships with that team and every time they look to add a piece to the puzzle, I'm the piece going the other way.

"I gotta be honest with you. At this point, I don't care. Move me ... because it's just tough going to the rink every day knowing that if something goes wrong, you're going to be the guy moved."

Morning boys and gals....so i know i'm a little late but jut wanted to chime in on the picks.......

At first i wasnt happy about the the Grigorenko pick questions about his attitude and the Sabres luck w eastern Euro's lately made me nervous...then i herd the kid talk, and while it could be lip service, it seems like he is genuinely happy to be a Sabre and excited to play in the NHL and does not want to go to the KHL...and seems to be pretty pissed about getting passed over (and ask Thermon Thomas...thats Huge)...as long as they are patient w him w could have a future Mogilney or Malkin could be found money....i just hope Ruff doesn't ruin his potential cuz a guy who could have gone as high as #2 and has that type of talent could be great looks like found money sure i might get punched in the face or it might make fore a great time!

as for Girgensons i am ecstatic.... i would have been happy w him at 12 i have been high on him for a while...love his size his toughness his leadership quality...he compares himself to Kesler but reminds me a bit of Mike Foligno....he was a perfect pick for this team....and just looking at him he looks like an assassin to boot.....future Captain material?

now if they could just find a way to deal Roy and or bring in a real asset via trade (Ott is on the market according to Darren Dreger....wishful thinking
) the Sabres could really change the image and feel of the team

I know people feel like Ennis was a revelation at center, but if Grigorenko is ready to start this year with the big club I'd like to see them move him back to the wing until the trade deadline when they unload Roy (assuming he is still around). Something like:

Vanek-Hodgson-Pominville
Ennis-Roy-Stafford
Foligno-Grigorenko-Leino
Gerbe-McCormick-Kaleta (Tropp)

That third line intrigues me. 3 guys all 6' 190lbs plus. They could call it 'The Big O' line.

Great first round by the Sabres, I give Darcy an A+. Wouldn't surprise me if Grigs makes the roster in the fall, spots will be open for him. Now tweek the roster and get that bum Roy off this team.

Off to the golf course.

anyone know what time round 2 starts today? I can't seem to find the answer...

I can't wait to catch the scrimmages at Niagara University this Summer!

Also, I think the talk about Grigs bolting to the KHL are a little pre-mature, especially after reading his quotes about being drafted by the Sabres and hearing his interviews. He seems pretty sincere. What would a kid come over to North America and play major junior hockey in Canada only to bolt back to the KHL? It doesn't make sense.

Now let's get either of the following:

Getzlaf
Statsny
Pavelski

Question:
Would they trade either center they drafted yesterday? Did another Club want either of the two G's centers?

Roy, what will Darcy finally do with him?

Wow... so that was a shocking night but with no trades of players for us..

I am shocked to see that a guy who at one time was a #2-#4 talent in the draft fell all the way to us because it came out that he was 20 and not 18..

I think he will show serious talent and has a great chance to make the only day roster.

Girgenous was the real big tough guy that will be nice in a few years to have..

I am curious now as to what they are going to do with Roy, Ennis, Hodgson, Catenacci, Sundher, Grigorenko, and Girgenous.

That is a lot of guys up the middle... I hope they can relay a trade of Roy/Sekera/ and maybe Ennis now for the winger they need to add. Or even get Vanek shipped.

I hope all of you have watched the video on Girgensons in Garth's blog.

The most important thing he said :

When asked to describe his game, Girgensons confidently gave an answer that will likely leave many Sabres fans salivating to see him in action.

“I’m a skilled power forward, that’s for sure. I hit a lot. That's what I love about hockey, hitting.”

Ennis' play at center versus his play at the wing is night and day. If you're not going to play him at center, then trade him. Yes, it's that big of a difference. A guy like he, who is creative, needs the room that only the center position can afford.

Would have preferred Galchenyuk, Pouliot, Rielly, Trouba (don't care if they're d-men, they're probably the best skating d-men of this weak draft) Samuelsson, or Laughton.

Again, it's like choosing Old Milwaukee over Busch among a warm lot of canned beer.
