All true. (band aid piss rag group on D).
Salvador looks like a Norris defenseman only on that team in that system - puckhead17
That joke of a blueline the Devs had really got exposed against the Kings big and fiesty group of forwards.
Its not just about making it to the finals. Its about ensuring the team has a solid chance at beating the best team out of the West. They aren't going to be doing that if that are removing Coburn, or Mez without replacing them with a player of the same or better caliber.
Especially with Bryzgalov in net who will need all the back pats to keep him sane and focused after every weak goal he lets in. |

I don't get the talk of adding Coburn in for Bobby Ryan. Ryan is a great player and has had multiple 30+ goal seasons, but I don't think I would do Coburn for Ryan straight up.
Ok Coburn, in perspective of the whole league, is not one of the top 10 defensemen, but on the Flyers he is no lower than #2. IMO he is the #1 for the Flyers. On the right team, system and circumstance a boat load of players can have 30+ goals. Sure Ryan does more than just score goals, but he is not an accomplished elite forward, yet, to give up as much as Coburn means to the Flyers.
Most people agree the Penguins got a decent return on Staal, but in reality all assets they got were "potential" for a guy who has more value than Ryan being a big all-around player down the middle.
Anaheim will want the moon, the Flyers want to give some twinkling stars, but the Flyers are in the position where they don't need just another 30+ guy. |

For poops and giggles, I would be curious to know what the price for Iginla would be. |

"Flash" cost a lot of money. Flyers have other players to take care of also. He is exactly the type of player they need imo. A player who can contribute and has been very good the past two seasons. - stveshdy
I doubt we're even considering him. |

Good post.
I'd like to see Coburn be a Flyer for life. Even if he can be crazy inconsistent at times.
I think the Pens will sign Suter.

Ok...I'm no expert, but if we take the 7.5 million via the 10% cushion and add it to the present offseason cap space we have (INCLUDING LTIR GUYS) at 11.5 mil and change (this is per capgeek and Bill on one of the earlier pages), that's 19 million in space. Give or take.
That's a lot
Carle at 5 per
Czech at 3 per
Parise at 7 per
Biron at 1.5 per
MAB at something like 1 per
Plus 2.5 and change to dish out to a 4th line draws/PK center
Did I do that right?? Please tell me I did that right....I suck with the cap

Suter wants to go near home Midwest.

I personally think theres more that goes into then just that. Playing your best hockey at the right time, staying healthy, and catching breaks plays an important part into winning a championship.
I'm not against keeping their current defenseman. I think the Flyers need to add a player like Parenteau who will be much cheaper than the big fish. The Flyers would than have a solid lineup imo.
Will see what Homer does. Hopefully he doesnt get sucked into having to get Ryan. |

Ryan needs to take the next step himself. He certainly has what it takes to be a 40 or even 50 goal scorer. |

He probably in the top 5 available forwards on the market. Funny thing is he only finished with two less points than Parise this past year. Obviously Parise is the better player but I still think Parenteau has some serious value. |

He gets bounced around on lines for depth purposes and who are the other centers?
Koivu? Cogliano?
He also is on the 2nd PP unit. Never on the first unit |

Are Parise and Ryan buddies? You figure a deal for Ryan will be a wash capwise, and with the names considered it may even free up a million. We already are in Parise range. I love the crazy season |

Might be laught by now, but this is complete BS. Somebody may have told her that, but it's not true:
Alec Schall @aschall21 Contrary to the tone of some articles about the trade @JVReemer21 and I did not feel misled by Mr. Holmgren. He has treated James well.
Alec Schall is JVR's agent. - BringBack25

Could be that run and gun system he plays on the island
don't know much about his back check either or other facets of his game to say he's worth it because of his points
2 years ago Grabner looked all that (again. Same system) |

I guess so, I hate how after his service here he was just thrown away in cap relief.
Personally I couldnt watch the cup ceremony. I hoped flocks of geese would have flown in and unleashed when Stevens, Richie and Carter touched the cup. |
