What I have seen from Schenn thus far, I haven't liked. He turns the puck over a fair amount, for a player who isn't a puck mover. He doesn't seem to make the calm, smart play often enough. He does bring some offense to the table, he's righthanded, and he's physical so there are some things to like. Hopefully he can develop into a solid # 2 guy. If he does, the Flyers will have benefited from this trade.

I have heard from many Leaf's fans that Schenn does move the puck pretty well and he has a good shot. His biggest problem this year was that he bulked up, but apparently didn't skate in the offseason because he lost mobility. Take it for what it is worth though from Leaf's fans.

Secondly, to those who want Dustin Penner......... please, for the love of god, stop.

Out of all the people on D, I would only move Meszaros because of his back injury. Even then, i'm hesistant. Unless they unload Kimmo because he's a good cap hit but salary is very low, but that's not happening either.

I see well Cousins was a throw in to grab Schultz rights, I'm not trading any more roster players than Meszy and Voracek for Ryan.

If I'm the Flyers I dont cave to their demands. The Flyers can keep their dcore in tact in case of injuries. There are other role players that they can sign in UFA that can help this team out.

You could add that to the current money they have but they would need to get under before the start of the season I believe.

Parenteau so it's likely that he will test the market on July 1.He enjoyed a spectacular year in 2011-12 with 18 goals and 49 assists in 80 games, so within a thin free agent crop this summer he could find himself in a good position to cash in with another club.

I dont know if the Flyers would have to add a pick but that offer isn't terrible. Throwing Schenn or Couturier in the deal just causes another hole. So if im the Flyers I look at Parenteau if I cant get Ryan.

He could be. Also guy is a monster in shootouts. He would most certainly be in the top 3.

Coburn is a deal breaker for me. I'm willing to part with Mez. Flyers cant afford to overpay for Ryan. They would have to many holes to fill.

I dont want to overpay too much for Ryan. Flyers should just make a run for Parenteau.

What I do not understand is this.

The Flyers needed a #1 d-man, and in turn got a guy who imho could turn out to be a decent #2.

That itself being a big if.

You trade your biggest asset when it comes to a trade and leave yourself in the same position. Assuming Kimmo retires next season they now have who to trade for the #1 d-man?

If they are praying Weber becomes a UFA or #44 can continue to be a number 1 after this season, I am worried.

For all of the talk of Parise and Suter, the pens will be driving up any bidding war.
