Anybody know of any info on Oscar Lindbergh led his league two years in row in faceoff percentage. Could be a good candidate for third line center |

And, Nieves explained why his nickname is “Boo.”
His family called him “Bugaboo” when he was a young kid. Somehow, as he grew older, that just didn’t seem right, so it got shortened.
Meanwhile, asked which player he’d like to compare his game to, Nieves said Joe Thornton. That’s not too shabby. |

I'd personally rather keep Erixon over DZ, as I see him being better and more consistent all-around with near the offensive upside. He and McDonagh will make a really nice top pairing in a few years. Even though he had a nice bounceback year at 21 I just don't see him having the consistency Erixon will. Just a hunch. If they can include Del Zotto as a sweetener for Nash they should. I guess we'll find out when Schultz makes his decision, hopefully Sather/Tortorella can make a solid pitch on Wed. |

I definately think it will play into it, though I'm not sure if it would be DZ or Erixon. I'd rather lose DZ but that's just a personal preference. I really like Erixons game. Another thing to consider is if they are considering moving Stepan how that may impact the Schultz decision as he's friends with he and McD. |

Muir did not like the Rangers draft- http://t.co/3BpDhMHo - airjan23
I thought they got good value in Skjei that late in the 1st. At worst you could use him as a trade piece, but he adds some high end depth behind Erixon/McIlrath and pretty much no other dmen in the system. Ceresnak is a long shot at best. Once Girardi's contract is up Skjei should be ready to step in 2-3 years. I loved the upside pick of Nieves that late in the 2nd for a 1st round type talent. He'll be well coached at Michigan and should put on another 20 lbs over a few years. The Rangers needed a rangy C in the system and he could be a real load to deal with down the line. Fogarty has that potential too. Andersson gives them another good dman in the system, you can't really go wrong with the Swedes as they rarely become busts. Spelling will head to Sweden this year so that should help his development. A nice mid round shot in the dark pick for a sniper type. Clark/Gorton know what they're doing so I have faith in any pick they make. |

The biggest thing with Erixon is adding 10-15 lbs of strength, he has the cerebral qualities already. You could see at Traverse and in the preseason he was a little too weak still but he sees the game very well. His upbringing and time in the SEL is invaluable too. |

I think getting Schultz changes everything.

Until then he's a New York Ranger and future stud
Peter Mueller not tendered, becomes free agent, I have a hunch he's gonna be a Ranger
Thanks for he mention Jan and the comparison to the Great one "Cranford99?" - cranford93
I used to really like Mueller, I remember his rookie year, I used to work late back then, had center ice package and would always watch the Coyote games when I got home.
It isn't the worst idea in the world, but he has had so many injury problems and has been a bit of a flake, not sure if he is the right player to come in under Torts. If Renney was still coach definitely, but, Torts and Mueller, oooh, bad mix.
I will say that Mueller is a right handed shot and he actually can quarterback a powerplay, Gretzky had him do that a lot when he coached in Phoenix.

If we do get Schultz I'm sure Erixon or mdz are gone in a trade I would pefer erixon gone only cause mdz is established in the locker room and we seen what he's capable of |

I don't get why people want to trade MDZ. If I were him and his agent I'd sign a 1 year deal at $3 mil. Destroy next year, (which I honestly think he will), and then ask for $4.5-5 mil. Then we have a problem people.
If I'm Sather I take a risk, offer 3.75 for a number of years if he believes in this kid as much as I do. The way Jimbro defended Dubi before this year in terms of trading is my feeling of MDZ. He is just a no go in my book to trade. He is the type of commodity we do not have currently with him gone. I think he can develop into that PP QB, offensive dynamo. I think trading him will be viewed as a massive mistake later.
Another point, with MDZ i noticed in interviews he's always talking about confidence and how important that is to him and how he relies on his swagger. There is a fine line there of course but I think we need to make a commitment to the kid with this contract and I think he will know he is safe, confidence will go up and so will his game. Just my 0.02 cents. |

signing Schultz makes it all a whole new ball game.
The teams that miss out on Schultz will be coming to us to talk trade.
Gotta make this happen. |

What would be your plan of attack if we sign Schultz? What D would you dangle if any?
Part of me says keep them all and see how things play out with the D corp this year. There are a ton of scenarios that can play out and change the ball game big time (i.e. Sauer comes back and kills in on D ) and I want to insure we have the best D corp in the league. And to do that, best course of action may be hold on to all of them and trade away the one(s) that are deemed expendable at the deadline.
That said, I would still push for Bobby Ryan if the price is right but I am very comfortable going into the year with Schultz+everyone else on D still here and seeing what plays out. |

I agree with you about MDZ. He is very much to me, how a lot people used to feel about Dubinsky. I think the kid is going to be a stud in the league. |

I think Schultz is that top 4 right handed D that we need along with Girardi.
It ultimately makes the top 4 pairing
Staal-Girardi
McDonagh-Schultz
if Schultz turns out to be as good as advertised, we could conceivably have the best defense corps in Rangers history.
Let the trade requests come to us, don't be dangling nobody yo.

But like Pete said. I like the idea of a 1a 1 b 1c D corp. I wanna be able to feel comfortable with any defense combo out there. Based on the above I think Erixon would be traded. Lets say MDZ and McIllrath pan out to what they potentially could be.
McDonagh and Schultz plays in all situations
Staal and Girardi are the shutdown Dmen
MDZ is your PP, quick, shifty, offensive dynamo
McIllrath is our Shea Weber, the cannon from the point and the Bruiser for PK and everything. Something we lack.
Just those 6 if all pan out and grow cover everything you want from a Dcorps. 2 balance guys that provide D and O, 2 shut down, 1 offensive, and 1 menacing Dman with that huge shot. Perfect balance, and why I would put so much stock in that group of 6.
If no Schultz, replace Schultz with Erixon.
EDIT: Maybe I am biased cause I myself am a Defensemen I think we can have a group of 6 that any pairing would be a top 4 pairing on any other team and I would love that. |

Mcilrath might not be ready this year. I certainly would be ok with a guy like eminger just being a stop gap. If the rangers wanted to sign a guy i wouldn't mind Aucoin, as long as it was on a 1 year deal. |
