Justin Schultz will be 22 in two weeks - jimbro83
LMAO, guess I was all wrong on that.
In that case... lets redo this. Hybrid of Glen's idea.
So we sign Schultz.
We trade Dubi + for Ott and Ryder (has 1yr left on deal)? Or just a straight up trade of Ott? Im just afraid of a potential over pay on Ryder coming off a career year in goals for him. |

Worth any risk. Maximize $ and years. Currently our only $ risk is Richards and the $ risk for Schultz is capped and cannot be that high. |

Heres the thing that really sets us back with the Schultz sweeps...
If he signs in EDM, DET or TOR... hes a guaranteed 2nd pairing guy at least and will get a ton of ice time.
With us, hes a 3rd pairing guy with a role on the PP. Ice time might be the difference in where he goes. |

without Stralman, Eminger or Sauer, Schultz actually instantly becomes our 2nd best right handed shooting defenseman, and Torts is very big on the righty-lefty thing. |

We shall see what happens. What happens July 1 with Schultz and Prust has most of my interest. And what happens with Dubi will also be interesting as well. As others put it, if he cannot be traded for something useful, and the $4 mil isnt hurting you making moves, then there is no need to dump him. You keep him and hope for a bounce back. That said, I think a deal can be had. |

And I see Stralman on the third pair with us anyway; perhaps with Erixon to take advantage the Swede chemistry. |

I gotta believe that if the Oilers traded Gagner it would be for defense |

No, I think I keep Dubi. We need a big winger who can score; not a finesse center. Only way I do that is if the team trades Step in a package to get a big wing like Ryan but I wouldn't include Step in any trade right now. |

Meh, screw that.
Id rather use Dubi to get a solid 3rd liner like Ott (depth guys) and see what Miller can do. |

not sure exactly what this all means for our AHL team:
http://www.courant.com/sp...-20120626,0,4130368.story - jimbro83
"but the Rangers have told WSE officials they will not be involved in the day-to-day operation and marketing of the franchise. "
I am assuming by "they" the article meant that the Rangers told WSE that WSE will no longer be allowed to run the franchise correct? Not that the Rangers will no longer be pushing the Whale as their AHL affiliate. Correct? |

Does this mean we'll have loan our AHL players to another team. I remember the rochester americans were a team combined with sabres and panther prospects. |
