Does this mean we'll have loan our AHL players to another team. I remember the rochester americans were a team combined with sabres and panther prospects. - blacksheep1
I think it means what hattrick wrote. That the Rangers will be taking total control of the team. Basically theyre firing WSE. |

Mats Sundin never won an individual trophy and never won a Stanley Cup, never had a 50 goal season, yet in on first try.

Probably in large part due to the effect he had on hockey in Sweden which has now become a big powerhouse. |

Eliott Friedman from HNIC said that the Ducks gave Toronto permission to sign Justin Schultz to a contract during draft (and then get compensation), but deadline passed and Schultz decided he wanted to test market. |

Sundin over Shanny? I'd take Oates over Sundin in my estimation. |

I could see that. Regardless, Shanny should be in. Same with Shero and Burns |

Maybe they'll move their AHL team to Brooklyn, that would be cool. Oh, wait, nevermind, there might be a AHL team going there already. |

That offers a little encouragement since Toronto was listed by some as a potential frontrunner. At least the Rangers will have the ability to make their best pitch. There will be no shortage of suitors and this kid comes with one advantage other UFA's don't: Cost certainty. You know exactly what this guy is going to cost and the bidding will not be in terms of dollars. |

It will be Richards 2.0 with everyone making their presentation. Maybe we can have him book Boys and Girls and have a show to declare "HIS DECISION." This has gotten way out of hand and hasn't even really started yet. |

Hmmmm, cost won't be a factor so what can NYC offer a 22 year old young man? I wonder.... |

Sign the kid, and trade him to the Ducks in a deal for Bobby Ryan.

Glen,
read your article on Mueller.
You know I am not a big believer in the stats thing, but I appreciate the work.
One thing I have to say, and you can't put any stat on this, the Denver Post blog about Mueller that I linked this morning, talking about how "various points Mueller looked gassed out there on shifts" towards the end of the season.
I just don't see Mueller and Torts working out. |

What if you can get him on a cheap 1 year deal? Could be at worst our 13th forward. |

I actually would applaud the signing, I just don't think the Rangers are going to be interested in him.

Seems like it would be an Erik Christensen type signing, and I don't necessarily mean that in a bad way. He is a guy with some skill, who has fallen into disfavor and his career is on a downward trend. You can take a shot at him at a low salary, see if Torts can get something out of him, and if not, like Christensen, you either don't play him or trade him.
I would be interested in the $1.0-$1.5 half neighorhood, but I imagine that some team will pay him more than that, and I have would have no interested in going much above that. |

He'd be another Wolski for us, at a fraction of the price though obviously. |

Thanks, Jimbo. And what you said about Mueller appearing gassed is exactly why advanced stats can never be relied on solely to base personnel decisions. Hopefully the Rangers scouts have their reports on him. It could be that Mueller wasn't in the best of shape given that he had missed better than 1 1/2 years due to concussion issues. I'm not sure but any team signing him will have to at least have an idea what caused him to appear gassed. |
