Apparently Lupul asked an 18 year old girl for nude pics via DM on twitter and the girl took a screenshot of the DM and tweeted it. Now Lupul is trending

Don't be surprised if both Brandon Prust and Shane Doan become Maple Leafs after July One. They have been targeted since mid April & fit plan

Here we go. Just like Rangers get linked with every big name player the Leafs get attached to anyone that plays with "truculence." Maybe Prust remains in NYC and Doan joins the Rangers instead. (-GKM3).

I dont like the "all you give up is money" mentality. Look what happened to Chicago. The salary cap can destroy your team if your not careful managing your $$

i dont think he meant it in terms of "heres 5 million dollars im gonna throw away on you" but he meant "its better to spend 4 million on a player for one year than to give up assets and such and hurt us in the long run"

jprutherford - Calgary traded for the rights to Dennis Wideman and signed him to a five-year contract worth $26.25 million. Anyone still think MDZ won't get at least $4 mil per season?

Del Zotto can hold out or pray for an offer sheet, he doesn't have a whole lot of leverage.

Dennis Wideman played on THE THIRD PAIR for Caps vs. Rangers in playoffs. Repeat: THE THIRD PAIR.

these are the comp picks for signing a RFA to an offer sheet:

$1,110,249 or below – No Compensation

Over $1,110,249 to $1,682,194 – 3rd round pick

Over $1,682,194 to $3,364,391 – 2nd round pick

Over $3,364,391 to $5,046,585 – 1st round pick, 3rd

Over $5,046,585 to $6,728,781 – 1st round pick, 2nd, 3rd

Over $6,728,781 To $8,410,976 – Two 1st Round Picks, 2nd, 3rd

over $8,410,976 - 4 first rounders

If someone were to sign Del Zotto to the same deal Wideman just got, the comp would be 1st 2nd 3rd round picks.

Do we take the picks?

or accept and deal with MDZ making over 5 million a year?

The other thing that complicates the RFA offer sheet is the team signing the player has to own and then forfeit all of its own picks in those rounds. They can't substitute another pick in place of their own.

However, if a team wanted to offer MDZ that kind of money I would talk to that team to see if we could agree on some form of compensation that would help now and if that didn't work I would take the draft picks. If we give MDZ $5.25 million per now as a RFA we can't deny McD around $7 million in the same boat next year. Just can't do it.
