Heres my thing with regehr. hes nasty, solid, makes the "right" play a lot....but hes just slowing down and its terribly noticeable
reminds me so much of rivet
aka the big tough dman that was brought in for leadership and toughness (which it did) but was just a tad past his prime
if im the sabres i somehow try to get rid of regehr (and spare me the "we did all this stuff just to get him here in the first place" nonsense) - HAMgerber
I agree he has slowed down, but he gives us that veteran presence and leadership that can rub off on the younger players.. He's been through it all, and can be a great teacher.. He's solid enough that he deserves a roster spot on any team in the NHL, just because he can do his job and a little extra.

He has 1 year left on his deal.. he wont get extended... He serves his purpose as a solid 2nd pairing guy.. no need to trade him. Both McNabb and Weber said he is a great mentor amd teacher to them.. |

Foligno is just a straight up bad ass power forward who can do it all.. He has some sick moves and sick hands also.. He's just so strong with the puck.. Just watch him down low come October. Just ridiculous to watch how he just shoves people off and doesn't even budge from contact. Hodgson is going to be a superstar in the somewhat near future.. Way too great of a skill set to be a bust in my opinion.. Hopefully I am not wrong. Ennis and Gerbe are probably two of the grittiest and skilled short players in the league.. Just love watching them two not back down from anyone. - jkc3953
Foligno had a good 14 games as a Sabre, dont go overboard with how good he is. Hes a big guy who Ennis fed the puck to and he capitalized. I like the kid but hes still got a lot to prove.
Hodgson is most likely not going to be a superstar unless he hits his highest ceiling. Hes a good prospect and has a decent shot at being a number 1 center but who really knows.
Ennis is not gritty, Gerbe is not skilled. |

sure weve been saying that for years (yeah i know...im a homer) but these guys already have nhl ready bodies, unlike our previous draft picks...so theres a bit of a difference. theyre both at least 6'1 200 lbs theyd be fine
you saw it in philly this year...schenn and couturier played...couturier right out of the gate - HAMgerber
so they'd be a bunch of uncoordinated, green oxen rather than deer.
fail to see the upgrade-
Philly's luck this year w/SC & BS was just that: luck. Let's not assume it's some kind of transferable asset.

^ Exactly what I am saying. Plus, the Sabres have had some great defensive prospects for like.. 584358438 years now it seems.. Ya know, give or take about 584358430 years. |

You're not sending a very good message to the rest of the league if the guy you begged to come in the first place is gone the next year even though he still had time on his contract. They're trying to attract players, not scare them away. |

I don't want any of this realist talk. We stay positive and have too high expectations. We are Buffalo, god damnit.
EDIT - For the record, I see no reason to believe Hodgson couldn't be a superstar.. He has some ridiculously great decision-making skills that he did show off.. Just a matter of shooting a bit more instead of thinking pass first all the time. Ennis isn't exactly gritty.. But he isn't shying from contact. Gerbe isn't skilled? I don't know what hockey game you are watching. |

Gerbe is a lot more skilled than most people around here give him credit for. You try playing a skilled game when your linemates are Gaustad and Kaleta. |

We traded Roy about 150 times today
We are getting Doan
Parise
Ryan
Now Steve Ott
Luke Adam is "great"
Vanek is a bum
Pommer is a "great" capt.
Oh yea and I said I would trade Kaleta for a year supply of toliet paper. |

Can catenacci or sundher play wing??
I think that in rochester they have to play center but chances of making buffalo will be better at wing IMO

Exactly why I don't give as much crap to Leino.. Playing on a line with Kaleta is about as helpful as learning how to play goalie from Helen Keller. |

It's a lot easier to move a center to wing. Plus, if you're Lindy Ruff, all your centers play wing and your wings play center. |

Leino was paired with Roy and Pommer for the last quarter or so of the season. He still didn't produce that much. Yet Pommer managed to continue putting up points. |
