Laraque is a fraud. He thought he was a better hockey player than he was and felt like he didn't need to fight because of it. He truly thought he was a third liner.

He had a specific skill set that made him appealing to NHL teams and then didn't feel the need to do it. Sorry nobody is forcing you to play. Do what the teams want you to do and don't complain and get your check, or quit and complain.

I think he was referring to Roy and Sekera.

Sekera at least puts up double digit points every year, and Roy has cracked the NHL full time, not sure how they compare to Kadri and Komi. I'll agree the trade proposals of these two guys are getting old, but they exist because they are the players that we no longer want that actually WOULD have a value to another team. I think Roy on a new team in a 2C role would put up 60+ again easily.

I would not go anywhere near trading for Getzlaf.
He looked lazy and disinterested all last year.
He loafed on to many nights. Way too many.

Not really. He's saying he personally hated doing it, not that he thinks it should be gone. To me it's a classic case of "it's a dirty job, but someone's gotta do it". If that's what it took for him to make a living playing hockey, so be it. He also just didn't like being portrayed as some sort of neanderthal on skates.

That being said, I don't buy his reasoning in the second bit. If you're not good enough to play in the NHL, you shouldn't be in the NHL, period, just like any other profession.

You don't think that Roy could put up good points on a new team? That's where his value comes from. I think his biggest problem is his party crew and the lack of accountability for him from his peers and coaches. The guy is a good player, and should have decent value on the market. Needs a fresh start, but is a solid 2C option on most teams. A better example of a player everyone wants gone but has NO market value would be Leino. As for Sekera, I agree his value is skewed a bit, but he is a puck-mover, a full time NHLer, and is on a team with several carbon copies of him in the system. That said, I can't wait until these guys are gone, so we can fantastically trade someone else. In the meantime, these guys make the most sense.

only players I have bashed is vanek, myers and miller in the last 5 months


my favorite players, in no particular order
foligno
tropp
kaleta
pommer
leopold
sulzer
enroth

but that does not mean they are the best players

I would be happy if we moved kaleta, if nothing else then to get a healthier winger and tropp more playing time

do I think enroth is better then miller, no not yet but aside from a few months before the olympics, I think enroth can put up similar number that miller puts up playing 40 games a year

leopold is just a steady player that gets the job done

sulzer is the player that never got a real shot and was our best defender for the last month when he did get a shot
