This team needs a change.. Roy for Ott makes that clear while addressing one of our biggest weaknesses. too many girly boys not enough grit. - SabresFaninIndiana
I agree, what we are missing is balls. |

Rather than rush the kid, why not Langenbrunner on a one year deal to play RW with Ott and Leino, or maybe Doan, not that he is leaving Phoenix. - kingcong39
I'm hoping that he has the drive to make this team this year. Everyone talks about his skill being at a high level. I say if he makes the team, keep him and he will grow throughout the year. |

I don't disagree.
But if you can get Doan or say Langenbrunner on a one year deal, I say do it.
If you get one of those guys, you move Leino to the 4th line (too bad) and let him center Gerbe and Kaleta, with McCormick as your extra forward. |

We had so much role players last year that it was a joke! That's all Ott is.
Yes he is more physical and good at faceoffs. But Roy for Ott is just stupid.
Ott is like a tiny upgrade over the goose - Smittyx36
A bit more than a tiny upgrade to the Goose's cement hands but I was never a big fan of Gaustad. |

i would agree with this series of events...
Homer said a few weeks back that we could see Leino or Roy in red, white, and blue in Rochester this year. |

I don't think Doan will entertain a 1 year offer. Langenbrunner is an idea but he is getting up there in years. |

Gaustad is great defensively. He's also really good at faceoffs and was willing to stick around the rink and work on faceoffs with the other guys that were struggling with them. He was not a scorer though, by any means. |

I just want someone on the Sabres who would have actually done something were they on the ice for the Miller/Lucic hit. Not apologized for doing nothing then tried to make up for it next time. |

"Great" is a stretch but I won't deny his value at the dot and the first round pick we got back say that as well. |

Not sure where he gets the bad rap for being a cancer. He played for 8 years for Atlanta with no support and still averaged over 40 goals and twice had 52. Being traded to NJ, I've hard nothing but good thing from his teammates. Heck, he even alowed Max to have his best seasob in 5 years for the time they played together. As for Semin being lazy, I think a line of Kovy, Grigs and Semin would make all 3 players better. They would have something to prove. Think of how well the Russians played together in Detroit. I'm not comparing these 3 to the guys from the Wings, but when they played together, they were the elite line in the NHL. It's all about the chemistry. - adambuffalo
You might have something that could be good with Kovy Grigs Semin line, however. |

No, Sunday Funday.
It may be minimum because the FA market is light tho. |

yea... Parise and Suter are the only names anyone really cares about... and I don't think either of them will have deals locked in and loaded on the first day of UFA. |

Sekera at least puts up double digit points every year, and Roy has cracked the NHL full time, not sure how they compare to Kadri and Komi. I'll agree the trade proposals of these two guys are getting old, but they exist because they are the players that we no longer want that actually WOULD have a value to another team. I think Roy on a new team in a 2C role would put up 60+ again easily. - BuffaJoe
Roy will put up 60+ points here again if he stays. |
