Why? We have set wingers in lupul and kessel but no 1st line center. And your sarcasm doesnt work since we still suck, we have no 1st line centerman, the likes of colborne, kadri, or JVR if he can make the switch and do good id rather have on the first line than garbage taking up space who will never mount to anything close as a first line centerman when there are other players drafted in the first round in need of a chance to prove themselves and have potential.

Well at least you understand that bozak is no more than a third liner and that connolly+lombo should be making us fans our popcorn, hotdogs, and pizza at the ACC

Because he was never given a chance and that is why guys like you and leaf management are complete morons where fans like us will never know the potential or upside guys like kadri or JVR or colborne can have when given top of the line responsibilities and top line minutes to prove what they can do given top wingers in the league. Im pretty sure kessel and lupul set each other up the whole season, leaving bozak with a mere 47 pts... yes cause thats really good for a 1st line centerman let me tell you... he belongs on the third line.

Geez, you argue exactly like UG but at a completely different end of the spectrum.


Let me reitterate why JVR is not a likely option for 1st line C:
JVR is considered to be rather lousy at defense,
Centers are relief upon for defensive play,
Carlyle is a defensife coach, so will likely be even more crotical of defensive shortcomings,
Bozak is our top defensive center, isnt bad defensively, and has great chemistry with Kessel.

Now, nobody's saying Bozak is an ideal 1st line center... But unless we go out and acquire an established top-6 center, he's the guy theyre gonna stick with.

Positive of what? We have no goalie and we are running with upside which im okay with cause i want to see how scrivens and reimer battle the league, there is potential there. We have no legit number one centerman so i see no harm in trying kadri or jvr or colborne in a top role since we are no where near ready of making the playoffs or at least making it past the first round in playoffs. Unless burke makes more trades to improve this team this season, JVR as a winger is not going to save us.

So your stating that grabo is good defensively right? He shouldnt be a 2nd line centerman cause he sucks at defence and gives up the puck causing breakaways right? Wrong. I thought with the leafs our 3rd line was more of a defensive role line or something like that? Carlyle can do whatever he wants, he will give JVR a chance at center, kadri doesnt have to be a center, he plays good on the wing and is more of a setter than a goal scorer.
