Seriously, I dont recall anywhere near this hype around Hall, Nuge, Nail, Kane, etc. I understand that every team has(had) a shot but, (frank) sakes, he hasnt even played Canadian juniors. Sorry but NCAA <<

NCAA is to the CHL what the KHL is to the NHL. I agree.

Just want it over with so people can get down to unreasonable expectations for next season.

I'm going to make a bold, albeit drunk prediction....

If the Leafs roll with Ben Wah Balls Scrivens and Reimer this year, Ben Wah will steal the #1 spot before Xmas...

Good night and (frank) you all...

The saps over at the Edmonton site are begging for a big disappointment tomorrow. They've already cannonized Schultz as their top defenceman and it's already money in the bank. They're convinced that Schultz is starstruck, because Gretzky and Coffee called him. Hell, he probably never saw either of them play live. The whole idea about bringing celebrities to try and make a case, smacks of desperation. Now, I wouldn't mind if he signs there, if it prevents the Canucks from getting him. If he can't sign, with the Leafs, I hope he stays the hell out of the east. I hope this ends soon! Too much hype over this player.

I all of a sudden just hit a Leafs depression....Are these all the moves we are going to make for next season? Gonna be a long one.

No, these are not all of the moves being made this off season. Burke is sitting there, with the Unholy trinity of Armstrong, Connolly and Lombardi, in the last year of their contracts. Once all of the top free agents have been gobbled up, with overpayment and long contracts, teams will be looking for a quick fix, to get them to next off season. Burke will be standing there with two centres and a winger, to pawn off on some of these dupes. Add a second tier defenceman to the mix and you have a decent future return, either a draft pick or a prospect. We end up with salary cap, moving forward. We then turn our attention to possible goaltenders, like Bernier, hopefully being able to get a return for very little. If we do make a deal for Bernier, one of either Reimer or Scivens, will be going the other way.

Cheap one year plug and play players, then you dispose of them and either use a player in your system, that is developing the next year, make a trade the next year, or wait one more year for the new collective bargaining agreement and try and get a UFA then. All the top UFA's, this year, are looking for the 10 year deals, before they're outlawed, next year.

3, 4.5, and 4M players aren't necessarily cheap.

It may be cheaper than trying to sign a Parise type player for 8.5 million, on a 10 year contract. Especially when you may have a player in your system, a year away. There are no decent centres to be had right now.

That's like saying; that steak is too pricey at $50, I'll pay $30 for this 3 day old half eaten bigmac instead.

And sometimes, there is a market for marked down beef and someone takes it at a discount. Teams get desperate and if their division opponent is one player away from a playoff spot, at their expense, they'll make that move. I've seen too many teams, miss out by a point or two, for a lack of a warm body, down the stretch.

Please read the posts, not just the blogger.

Schultz is very accomplished as far as the college ranks go, but hasnt played a game in the show. Oiler fans are excited at the possibility of getting a bluechip prospect who wouldve been a top 5 pick this year. But certainly dont harbour any fantasies that he may not turn out.

Instead of lumping an entire fanbase in with its blogger, try reading the posts first.

Would it be fair to say all leaf fans are delusional, homer, burke loving idiots like some of you clearly are??
