You came in shooting you mouth off about Lowe, cause that's what Burkie would do, and someone corrected you, and rightly so, and now you are just stuck looking dumb, and have decided instead just to whine about it. Congrats.

I think he ended up in some fortunate situations not necessarily resulting from his skill and am not the only person to share this opinion. Sorry... I "came in", is this an Oilers blog that I am "trolling"?

Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't Kevin Lowe..

a) A complimentary player on a very good team
b) A complete disaster as a GM
c) As President sitting back watching his team be last 3 years in a row

But hey maybe he was a good coach

- Mr_Smokey

I respect his opinion on Lowe but all of a sudden you try to have your own and you get sarcasm and condescending remarks. Don't bother spouting your pro-Burkie propaganda here.

The guy asked what Lowe has done without Gretzky. I answered. I'm not a Lowe fan. Just facts.

Lowe a complimentary player? His name, while it might not ever happen, gets tossed around for the HHOF yearly. Complimentary lol.

My comment was tongue in cheek. I agree technically without Gretzky he has some good accomplishments. I just don't understand why his history with the Oilers gives him carte blanche for the rest of his career. Anyways, was not meant as a trolling comment.

Seems as though their Shultz dreams are coming to an end, he can go back to being a bust now on some other team.

Put it this way. I cheer for the Leafs and have no particular allegiance to any one player or manager on the team. They can be traded or fired tomorrow and I could honestly say I would not care if the team performed well. As for Brian Burke, if he fails as GM, he will be fired.

My comment was directed towards Kevin Lowe and my feelings that he has been given too much slack for what I feel is a lack of results in Edmonton. Will they be good down the road, I believe so. However, to say that his career was not catapulted from being fortunate enough to be a role player on the best team of all time is intentionally dim.

Regardless of what happens, Schultz will be a really good player. However, your failure to engage in the actual discussion and deflect due to my idiocy in reminiscent of UG.

Interesting tweet

Colby Armstrong ‏@armdog
Thanks to the leaf nation for the support over the last couple seasons. Although I had tough luck thanks for everything. #lotsleftinme

Armstrong bought out. Too bad, the guy had some tough luck with injuries.

I asked him if he just broke the story on his own trade.

Lowe was a pretty good (frank)ing dman in his own right, yeah he was not dumb enough to go to the leafs and suck like Fuhr and Anderson, silly him, he enjoyed winning. Whatever the reason or excuse may be, at every level he won. And depending on how this new Oiler's team turns out, he just may continue to do so in upper management as well.

Fair enough. I think your comment was legit other than the shot at the Leafs franchise which you can note that I haven't made any about the Oilers. I agree that I think that when these guys start to develop, they will attract better free agents and will have the tools to make the moves they need to become a perennial contender.

I doubt it.

I have no idea why Armstrong would be bought out though. I guess he was the cheapest buyout of the useless 4.
