dont say vanek the guy is one of the most talented players we have....espn ran a study last year that broke down scientifically the best shooters is the game and vanek was ranked like 3rd or something like that

Honestly.. we could keep Vanek and Parise.. if Roy's 4M or Sekera's 2.75M was moved it would help us alot in resigning Ennis and perhaps a 3/4th line grit player.

we have almost 12M in cap space currently. so take out 8M or so for Parise and we still have about 4M to play with..

Vanek - Hodge - Pommer
Parise - Ennis - Stafford
Foligno - Grig - Leino (?)
Tropp/Gerbe - McM - Kaleta

I could see Leino and Kaleta being swapped too. but if Girgs doesn't make the team we will be in a world of hurt to sign a 3C because Leino or Gerbe can't play it full time.

I never mentioned Suter but I have Parise and I don't think he has a chance. With teams like the Rangers, Pens, Leafs, Wild, Avs etc money may not be the only reason. I know a few people will not agree but, I don't see a fit between him and the Pens.

Vanek's accuracy is ridiculous.. I don't think I have ever seen him deke on a shootout attempt.. he just sets up the goalie and puts the puck where he wants it..

Vanek and Pommer's shots in shootouts are just dirty wristers

Don't get me wrong.. I want to see him moved.. I think he gets hurt at the times of the season/playoffs when we need him most.. I think he is out of shape.. and I think that he was only good against other team's 2nd/3rd d pairings or on the PP..

if we moved Vanek and saved his 7.1M in cap space I would officially die and go to heaven if Parise is on the roster...
