we dont need a 3rd line center, if we ship out ennis and roy we need to find a 1st and second line center. grigs will probably take over 3rd line duties.

edit: i forgot about hodgson

- LizzyJo

Hodgson will fill either 1st or 2nd line center duties

IMO, Parise does not fit in with the Pens.
- SABRES 89

No that team would be in BIG BIG trouble in 2 years if they sign Parise to that type of deal..

Crosby, Neal, Malkin, Parise, Martin, and Fleury would account for like 45M of the cap I think I calculated the other day.

I would gladly take that problem on the Sabres

With Olli?

Or Forsberg?

- Purple Eagle

Nah, Olli's going to the Islanders from what I hear.

Foppa was last spotted buying a new cabinet and dinette set at IKEA. He reportedly sprained his ankle in the process.

As much as I would hate to trade Ennis.. it isn't that bad of an idea..

he is 5'9.. undersized.. cannot be used to go against another team's top line.. he has a ceiling of 2C but could put up 60+ points.

Ryan is a top line winger who is signed for 4 years at 5.1M and has a great 2 way game who has put up 30+ goals 4 straight years even if it was with Getzlaf and Perry.

It makes sense... it really does.

Did Prust get re-upped yesterday too??

I know i heard Montreal wants him bad.. I didn't get a chance to catch allll of the re-ups last night.

Prust would be the perfect grit to add to our bottom 6.. it will cost us atleast 1M though.

Del Zotto, Dubinsky, Christian Thomas, and a 2013 1st is the current offer from NYR. Howson isn't taking it right now.

Would you really?? outside of those guys they will have to sign 13 more skaters.

The capitals tried this method... just outscore every body without having top tier d-men and they never won a cup...

1Million?? I think if we were to sign him, it would cost us more than that.

- Sabresfan88

I said atleast.. I think he made 900K last year..

or maybe I'm thinking of Parros..

Looking at Cogliano's stats I have to say I wouldn't give up Ennis for him. He has never scored 20 goals or recorded more than 45 points. We'd have to be getting something else back. What if we get Ryan AND Cogliano for Ennis, Pysyk, and our 1st next year? That may be feasible.

he also turned down Clowe, Pavelski, Demers, and a 1st because they wouldn't put Couture in the deal.

It was a joke when the guy asked who was the specific Duck I was referencing. Obviously that deal is for Bobby Ryan. lol

I thought about that too.. Cogliano would be a our 2C if Roy is moved.. Grigs at 3C.

and with all this parise talk....im aware that were going to be targeting him along with the rest of the league but who goes if he comes?

dont say vanek the guy is one of the most talented players we have....espn ran a study last year that broke down scientifically the best shooters is the game and vanek was ranked like 3rd or something like that

...get him a center and hed be fine

but back to what i was saying...who goes and what do the lines look like? my guess is they just bury roy in roch just like homer said they might do

Just because it didnt work out for the Capitals doesnt mean it cant work. Every year a different brand of hockey wins the cup. Goes to show you there isnt one set way of doing it.

I would rather have a few elite players along with a bunch of grinders over what the Sabres currently have which is many above average players

I still think Vanek for Ryan would be good for both..

Vanek's has a bigger salary but you put him with Perry and Getzlaf and he could easily get back to 40+ goals a year.. and the Anaheim is I believe 22M under the salary floor already.

Vanek needs to have a top center in order to put up 7.1M type stats..
