Just because it didnt work out for the Capitals doesnt mean it cant work. Every year a different brand of hockey wins the cup. Goes to show you there isnt one set way of doing it.

I would rather have a few elite players along with a bunch of grinders over what the Sabres currently have which is many above average players

- Rally_Shots

I would trade our whole team for Crosby, Malkin, Neal, Parise, and Fleury as well but in the long term it will hurt them.

Did this guy beat you up at school every day or what ?Seriously of all players to complain about regularly.Least the guy shows every game sticks up for his team mates and acts like he wants to play in Buffalo.

I don't get the hoopla around this guy.. I really don't..

I hope some sucker of a team signs him to a huge contract and he absolutely Greg Oden's them.

I still think Vanek for Ryan would be good for both..

Vanek's has a bigger salary but you put him with Perry and Getzlaf and he could easily get back to 40+ goals a year.. and the Anaheim is I believe 22M under the salary floor already.

Vanek needs to have a top center in order to put up 7.1M type stats..

- JVince11

I am all for trading Vanek for Ryan.
Vanek could use a change of team too.
It would be cool for both teams.

Wade Redden, Ville Leino, Rick Dipietro, Mark Savard, and Peter Forsberg's comeback 2 years ago are useless...

Kaleta is not.

I would rather sign Parise and give him the money then to trade Ennis for Ryan.

Losing Ennis will just really hurt us.. it either means Roy stays, Luke Adam plays big minutes, or we are praying to korean jesus that Grigorenko is ready immediately

Could we see a move to get Alexander Semin to unite with our new number one draft pick ?Id like to see the Sabres go after PA Parenteau myself.

All I said was is that he's not worth 1 mill a year, another post was made about him getting qualified that's all.

as they should be... any team that isn't in on him should re-evaluate their management staff.

I believe any deal he signs would have to be an entry level deal, so youd get him for around 1 mil per year.

Teams cant sign him to just whatever they want since there are entry level contracts. However, he will get the max entry level $925,000, plus the max signing bonus $92,500, and then some combo of performance bonuses.

I doubt he gets the max performance bonuses from a team, although its possible he could.

Ultimately, his lowest hit will be $1,017,500 and his max can be $3.775M
