Alright... Doug The Thug Glatt is out...

I am going to see Ted with the brother in law...

and if you haven't seen the movie Goon.. you really should.. ABS f'n hilarious as long as you are not one of those uptight people that rate movies with terms such as "not enough character depth, the story line was predictable, and that there wasn't enough of a climax or believe-ability"

if you are one of those... I"m sorry... your life is going to be an utter disappointment. sucks to be you.

I don't understand fans even entertaining the though of trading Ennis... at all. Ennis for Bobby Ryan? Don't see how that makes us better. Translate what Ennis did at the end of last year over a season and its 80+ points. He has only been in the league a couple years and is still a baby, he's only getting better. Not to mention Ennis's next contract will only be 2-3 million per year, opposed to someone like Stafford, Roy or Leino who make much much more and aren't any more valuable to the team. Stafford and a prospect for Ryan? Absolutely. Ryan could slide right into the #2 line and provide CONSISTENT scoring, of which Staff cannot. That's an upgrade, and only an additional 1.1 million on the payroll.

People say we need scoring, I disagree, I think we need leadership first. I would welcome Parise or Doan before Bobby Ryan. We have guys who can score goals, last year was a down year for all of the forwards pretty much, except Pom.

I'm pretty happy with our stable of forwards, minus Roy. Get rid of him somehow and land Doan or Parise, or Ryan WITHOUT TRADING ENNIS and that's it. We don't need to shuffle the entire team around again we just need Ruff to stop shuffling the lines every period. Ennis, Hodgson, Foligno and Stafford will be another year into their development and all of them could go for 50+ points this year with better team chemistry.

I would rather sign Parise and give him the money then to trade Ennis for Ryan.

Losing Ennis will just really hurt us.. it either means Roy stays, Luke Adam plays big minutes, or we are praying to korean jesus that Grigorenko is ready immediately

Don't you be f*cking with Korean Jesus! He's busy with Korean sh!t!

Do both!

Get Parsie (sign to FA contract) and Ryan (trade Ennis, Pysyk, pick). USA over again with Miller.

Trade Vanek for Kessler

Roy/Sekera for Pavelski

Team USA...........just having some fun? But you could honestly make something like this happen

All I said was is that he's not worth 1 mill a year, another post was made about him getting qualified that's all.

As much as I would hate to trade Ennis.. it isn't that bad of an idea..

he is 5'9.. undersized.. cannot be used to go against another team's top line.. he has a ceiling of 2C but could put up 60+ points.

Ryan is a top line winger who is signed for 4 years at 5.1M and has a great 2 way game who has put up 30+ goals 4 straight years even if it was with Getzlaf and Perry.

It makes sense... it really does.

- JVince11

Except then we have a hole at center
And we'd be selling low on Ennis and buying high on Ryan
If they'd do it straight up,
Then I'm thinking about it...
But if it's something like Ennis + Sekera + 1st.....
Hell no

I guess you can't, I posted he's not worth 1 mill a yr about 5 pages agao and you found it 5 pages later and replied, so who can't let it go. Someone mentioned about players being qualified and said he would be for 1 mill and he's not worth that.

Boy people really think 33 good games means he's the answer at center. I'm not as easily convinced. He was good at wing for about that same number of games and then he tailed off rather precipitously.

I can live with Roy (motivated contract year) for another year if it means Ryan. Also, doing it this way means Roy is still available for Ott.

he also turned down Clowe, Pavelski, Demers, and a 1st because they wouldn't put Couture in the deal.
- JVince11

Columbus shoulda taken that deal...
Wonder if we could get something similar for vanek?
Maybe take out demers and/or the 1st...
And we add in a pick and/or Leopold, etc
Something like that

Vanek +
For
Pavelski, Clowe +

I'd def do that

Lebronesque. It's not that he is utilizing this loop hole, it's the circus side show way of letting it play out. At least Lebron was an established star let alone a young kid with zero experience.

For right or wrong this Schultz kid will be battling negative PR for some time because of this sequence of events.

It wasn't just that he himself put up numbers at center...
Foligno also became a goal scorer on tht line & Ennis somehow helped Stafford remember how to play hockey
There is something to be said about the ability to make those around you better (or at least play to their potential)

Take all that,
Plus you can assume that bc of his age he will only get better...

And then you consider that If we trade him we are back down to 1 center (assuming Roy is dealt)...

And I'm not convinced we'll be able to bring in a center of significance

There's just too many reasons NOT to move Ennis right now, IMO
In a year or two,
We could presumably get more value for him if he continues to play well
And Grigorenko and possibly Girgensons could be ready...

THEN it makes more sense to me to consider an ennis for power forward type deal

Its not comparable to LeBron James because everyone knows hes not a superstar like LeBron James. Hes also not hosting a show to announce his decision.

A lot of the hoopla surrounding this whole situation is the media making it out to be a bigger deal than it really is.

Hes following a process that has been done before a thousand times over with free agents. The media is making a big deal out of it by reporting on the outcomes after each small thing instead of the just breaking the news when it gets done.
