i dont know why everyone is so quick to get rid of leo. he was very very solid last year, and he is a great guy for the community. he is an unsung hero for this team.
- LizzyJo

Because he's pretty average and we need to get tougher back there
Leopold was far from the problem on this team,
But he seems to be the odd man out IMO
Ehrhoff, Myers & McNabb should be pencilled into the top4 for the next 7years or so
Pysyk has really nice top4 potential also

I agree with others when they say it'd look bad to trade Regehr
So if a team is looking for a defenseman from us,
It's either Leopold or Sekera...
Or BOTH if we wanna bring in that RH defenseman for the top4 like homer says

About (frank)ing time. With that said, I hope he's a bust. The stuff he pulled is really crappy.

whatever, hopefully teams start making trades already, i am a little sad that rights trading hadn't happened last night though, would've made things more interesting.

I Could see something like that happen
Then we prob hang into Leopold and McNabb starts in Rochester
Eventually he gets called up, making Leopold expendable at the trade deadline

Or...
Leopold becomes our next "James Patrick / teppo numinen" type guy that we keep around for our 3rd pair till he's ready to retire
I could also see Regehr in that role
But it's prob unlikely we keep BOTH after this year

Since most of the defensemen we have coming up play a style more like Leopold than Regehr....
Leo is the one I see as expendable

Now, if only they would trade him to Anaheim. At least one circus has left town.

Definitely. That was extremely exciting last year when Ehrhoff got his rights traded twice in a matter of a few days. Felt a lil bad for the Isles

With this UFA class doing nothing may not be a bad idea...

I hope they at least make a play for Parise, but I definitely agree with you.

Huh?
We signed Ehrgoff and Leino last year...
Plus acquired Regehr

I'd hardly categorize that as "do nothing"

I'm not sure there's anyone I'd want besides Parise
Not unless we make some trades and have holes to fill

I just hope we re-sign "The Goose" and extend Miller for another 5 years. Lindy is already locked up, so we are set for a coach.

Schultz is a walking circus no need for that here, not that he was considering the Sabres anyway

Jokinen may be worth a look tommorow...when Armia comes we could have all 3 of those fins (Leino) on a line

I don't get why everyone is so eager to add him in to whatever trade they want us to make
I'll give up Brennan WAY before I'd consider Pysyk
It might take about 4-5 years...
But a top4 of Ehrhoff-Myers and McNabb-Pysyk could be REALLY nice
I realize by then we'd need a new goalie
That's why I'm all for getting in another top4 defenseman NOW,
And let McNabb & Pysyk develop at a decent pace
Last thing we need to do is put too much responsibility on these guys too quickly
Just look how it wrecked Adam

Please
Once Vancouver was "out" it was obviously going to be the Oilers
All that young talent growing up together is a no-brainer

What are you going to tell us next?
The Sabres will trade Roy... We've been supposedly trying that for a while

Break some news like Kassian for Hodgson and I'll give u all the props u want

Saying things that have been "rumored" WILL happen doesn't get you much IMO

Anyone can do that

Good lord those oiler fans are touchy individuals with their coveted signing. Jumpin all over me for questioning why he's the second coming of Orr when he could just as easily be the next Gilroy. I just don't get the circus surrounding a college player who is unproven.

I agree 100% I had no interest in Schultz at all.
