i can see some people have their panties in a bunch today.

- LizzyJo

Yep.....oiler fans. Don't go in there they're attacking everyone who opposes the view that Justin Schultz is their franchises savior and that now because he signed, big free agent fish will follow.

Edit....it has been a testy board today

You can argue Ruff wrecked Adam by switching him all over the ice. Or that he's an average skater at best that wasn't too keen on his defensive zone responsibilities. But I don't think it has to do with being rushed.
- dacks

I do
He had absolutely NO business on our TOP line with vanek & pominville
Sure, he was putting up points in the beginning,
But anyone would have the way they were playing
As soon as he started to struggle (because he was significantly overmatched IMO)...
His confidence suffered...
So much so, that even when he went back to Rochester he had a rough time

He CLEARLY couldn't handle the role he was put in by Ruff
That was some bad coaching

And if his defense is an issue, he should be playing wing, where the assignments aren't as great
lessen what u want him to do on the ice...
Until he is READY for more
Don't ask him to do all that as a rookie
That was so dumb!!!

whatd you say to properly piss them off? i honestly find them to be entirely knowledgeable/ not homers / and they dont attack your opinion

maybe today is special because of the signing lol

the toronto blogs are the absolute worst they see youre from buffalo and youre immediately an enemy, even when youre just looking for simple discussion

and they think that kadri gardiner (and formerly schenn) were the next crosby, lidstrom, and pronger

dude. dont get ahead of yourself...at all

direct quote from you: "as i PREDICTED earlier, schultz signed with the oilers"

keyword: predicted. you got lucky

and, everyone and their brother knew it was down to edmonton and vancouver. bob mckenzie tweeted that apparently it has been edmonton for the last 2 months.....so if thats the case and you are an "insider" , where were you on that?

also, i would be willing to bet that we are nowhere near anything close AT ALL with bobby ryan. homer said we dont have any interest in him and hes been spot on with more sh*t than you have been. sure hes missed slightly on a couple of things but as far as im concerned hes the only reliable source on this blog

dont get me wrong i cant stand his strong opinions and when he completely shuts down people, but you cant argue that hes right a lot

parise on the other hand....lets see if you can dig up anything real on that front

look im not trying to sound mean or anything, but i just cant stand when people go on twitter, look up rumors all over the place, then claim to have a source

as someone poiinted out earlier.." if you can break something along the lines of kassian to van for hodge"

then i will trust you as an insider because something like that came COMEPLETELY out of the blue

...its painfully easy for someone to come on here and be all ," oh well i think nash is gonna get dealt to nyr or tor or philly" or "yeah im hearing schultz is down to edm or van"

yeah no DUH thats entirely speculation.....stop wasting everyones time...its terribly annoying

- HAMgerber

You say all this, yet not even homer broke that news (RicoMartin was 10x closer and you guys laugh at Rico) but youve been defending him all day today.

You cant have your cake and eat it too

Booyah... About (frank)ing time we were the sought after locale from bigger fish!!! Now the haters can hate
- saskoil21

....what makes him such a big fish? He hasn't played a minute in the league, so tell me how he is all of the sudden can't miss. Plenty of former hobey baker nominated college free agents that have flopped. What's to say he's not the next Matt Gilroy. Not trolling so much as asking an honest question. So much excitement over an unproven commodity.

This was the comment and my response, most ganged up and had a fit that I was going in to talk crap, yet a few responded fair point, they were just excited someone choose edm. I had intelligent banter with a few, even practically congratulating them before they all got bent.

I don't remember any significant period where he stunk so bad that Lindy had to yank him. No doubt TV and Pommer were playing great, as they should've. Just think that either a) Lindy booted him too quickly, and (more likely) b) he's a 3rd Liner at best.

About Luke Adam...every indication was that he COULD handle more he was doing great with Vanek and Pommer until he slumped or whatever. He saw both rookie success and sophomore slump in his first year...If he can return to his early form it drastically reduces the need for some scoring (we would still need some, just maybe a 20 goal scorer rather than a 30 goal scorer)

I think RIGHT NOW, he's a 3rd liner with 2nd line potential...
That's why asking him to take on a role on the 1st line was asking way too much for a rookie
And add on to that, the extra defensive responsibilities u have at the Center position

It'd make more sense to me to START him in the wing on the 3rd line and let him work his way up

I'd say both statements are arguable
I'm of the opinion he is a GOOD coach, not great
As for whether or not he has worn out his welcome...
After Roy is traded and possibly Sekera...
How many guys are left that have been here a significant amount of time?
Pretty much just Miller, Vanek & Pominville... And you could throw Stafford in there too I guess
But my point is,
With so much turnover lately,
I rally don't see Ruff's being here for so long as an issue
