I agree on Nash and Ryan because we will have to give up so much to get them
Parise would cost no assets though,
And he's GREAT... So I'd still go after him in a heartbeat
It's tough for me to see Doan leaving, but I'd love to get him
Ott too, we could use his toughness & he's good on faceoffs... And at a nice cap hit - jdfitz77
it sounds like in order to get a key piece for our forwards group we have to give up another key piece of either the F's or the D corps..
and Regier just doesn't want to pull the trigger on that.. I think the likelyhood of Parise raises because asking prices are so high right now that giving up assets in a trade is becoming "how much do you want to over pay for this player" tournament.
Parise at 8M cap hit with a 12 and 10M salaries the first 2 years should be offered.. I can't imagine that anyone is going to "outbid" Pegula.. we might not get Parise but we will surely have the biggest offer I bet.

You know I wouldn't mind a big trade. Like a trade that changes our whole look as the sabres. Who says we can't get Ryan and ott? If you want something you gotta put your mind to it. Reiger needs to stop being so uptight.

It sounds like the combined asking price for those two deals is...
Ennis, Stafford, Roy, McNabb.. and a 1st round pick... not to mention what prospects could be included...
my opinion is that... its too much for 2 players... creates too many holes.

Sounds about right
One thing that really gives me hope is that under Pegula,
If there is something Darcy identified as a need,
He's had no restraints on going after it
Parise would be awesome
And if for some crazy reason Doan were to leave Phoenix,
Us signing Parise certainly won't hurt out chances of we were to go after him too

Maybe I'm just looking at the future. Because Ryan replaces Roy and ott replaces Ennis and armia? Replaces stafford. I'd hate to see Mcnabb go to but remember we got leduc and pysyk. And i know I wasn't factoring in position above. I don't know I'm just looking at this a different way.
With Suter leaving they are going to have to work hard to hit the cap floor. He certainly is not worth that. Right place right time for him. - Gunner Staal
Good for him. Definitely WAAAYYY over inflated value. Its exactally what all Sabre fans said, they like Gaustad, he's a solid 3rd or 4th Center, a tough yet repectable guy, but only at a bargain.
