Drury was coming off an off season, and was a 2nd round pick. Ryan was the 3rd pick ( I'm pretty sure) in the draft and has had 4 30+ goal seasons in a row. I'd have no problem trading Pysyk and a 1st. The Sabres just drafted 2 1st round centers, and have center Daniel Catenacci who was drafted in 2011 in the 3rd round who was spoken highly off. I'd trade Ennis for a top line, young center who is a consistent scorer.

2) dump some fat to make room for his salary
3) sign a seasoned vet with a cup for leadership
4) find the gresiest mucker you can find: a la parros/ tootoo etc for the 4th line

If you can get a proven player like Ryan or anyone else for that matter, you trade Ennis. The last few games of the season mean nothing haven't you learned from Stafford? Ennis is not a number 1 center.
