What is it that Bobby Ryan has proved to you? That he can score with arguably the best line in hockey over the past 4 years?

Vanek put up 30+ goals in 4 straight seasons including two 40 goal seasons and he had nobody like Getzlaf or Perry on his line.

I am one of Vaneks biggest critics and I'm defending the guy right now. I cant believe it.

Vanek hasn't gotten 30 goals in 4 straight years, look it up. Vanek was able to get his 40 goals playing on the 3rd line and not facing top line talent. If the Sabres get Ryan then teams will have to decide who to play their checking line against and it will make one or the other more productive.

No, I know exactly the point your making. But that post was geared towards what Bobby Ryan has proven to you.

I think hes a great player, no doubt, but he hasnt proved anything to me because hes played with Perry and Getzlaf for most of his career. Hes scored 30+ goals for 4 seasons in a row. Okay, wow thats something Vanek has done, and he didnt have those types of players on his line. Im not a fan of Vanek, but to me hes proved more than Bobby Ryan.

Thats what that post was geared towards, im not trying to have a pissing contest just a discussion, what has Ryan proved to you?

I've never seen Leduc play, he has nice stats and Brennan is soild in the AHL but neither has the value to get you Ryan as part of a package in my humble opinion that is.

I stand corrected. 3 years in a row with 2 of those years being 40+.

He also scored 40 goals on the top line by the way, so the 40 goals on the third line argument is invalid.

what do we think of pysyk? equal ceiling as mcnabb?

all i know is that pysyk is supposed to be a solid shutdown d man but hes not even that big?

and JGL i have no idea what to make of either because he plays in the QMJHL...its offense galore in that league


i am in LOVE with mcnabb though...he was an absolute terror while playing up for us last year. if im any gm in the league and Darcy approaches them for a trade the FIRST player i ask for is mcnabb

Hard nose player besides goals he plays with fire, complete gamer. You really think it's worth keeping Ennis for a guy like Ryan? a proven guy? he's not going to just stop playing "good" if he's not with the Ducks.
