why doesn't that surprise you? if you can't just trade for an amazing center that can win you the cup without creating huge holes, of course you have to build with new parts and that takes time to develop. the sabres will get younger before they get older but it doesn't hurt to add a guy like parise or doan for when the young guns are ready in 2-4 years

No, no. Don't hide. You're not totally off base with that assessment. Regehr is 32, and has played ALOT of physical hockey. He's on his last legs, but we really didn't give much up for him.

About Luke Adam...every indication was that he COULD handle more he was doing great with Vanek and Pommer until he slumped or whatever. He saw both rookie success and sophomore slump in his first year...If he can return to his early form it drastically reduces the need for some scoring (we would still need some, just maybe a 20 goal scorer rather than a 30 goal scorer)

Problem is that early success for Adam proved to be a problem when he hooked up with Roy and started partying it up too much.....pretty hard to play like Richards and Carter...not everyone can party all night and then come and play hockey!

Terry was jumpy earlier on but i think he's learning that Rome wasn't built in a day. i think we have some exciting young players we just need to get rid of some of the guys that are all too similar/aren't that amazing and try to upgrade to better personnel.
